Hi, all.

Anybody have experience with Bobby Hunter cues? Specifically, Hunter PJ cues?

Surfed around the net for awhile, to include his website...and I'm coming up dry on any PJ cues that are NOT ebony.

Just curious if anyone has seen or shot with a Hunter PJ in maple, cocobola, etc. ?????

I know Bobby pretty well and I'm sure he would make you whatever you want. I can guarantee you whatever cue you purchase from him the workmanship and playability will be top notch.

Thanks for the reply, Jon.

I'm toying around with trying to snag a maple PJ cue...but wasn't sure if he did that kind of thing.

I saw an ebony Hunter PJ floating around here on the boards awhile back...and it was SHARP...but I'm kinda stuck on Birdseye or Curly maple, or perhaps Cocobola.

Not exactly a PJ....

Very cool cue. That's the one with the extended wrap, right?

I really like his stuff...and I'm told they play great. If memory serves, Jay Helfert told me I should snag one. I guess that guy knows something about pool or somethin'????

Maybe I'll just go the non-lazy route, and drop Bobby a line. I heard that he had made some traditional 4-pointers recently, too. Interesting....

frost used a hunter cue for a long time by choice not sponsorship i beleive
if anyone knows different please speak up

Thanks for the info. I've gone round and round for about two years on getting a Hunter cue...and now seems to be as good a time as any.

Dropped Bobby an e-mail, asking some questions. Hope to hear back from him soon.

Since you own a few...maybe YOU can answer a couple questions for me?

Are they forward, rear, or neutral balanced?
How's the "standard" shaft taper?
Do they play stiff, medium, soft, whippy?

Feel free to drop a PM to respond, if you want. Just wanna know some particulars from somebody that has one (or two, or three, or 20). I've seen plenty, but have never laid my hands on one to shoot with. All I'm going off of is VERY complimentary reviews.

Anybody and everybody with experience in owning/playing with a Bobby Hunter cue...feel free to chime in.

Experiences...be they good, bad, or indifferent...I'd like to hear 'em all. I'll just put everything into the big mental blender, and sort it out.

Thanks much,

Rat

bobby hunter cues

very solid hitting cue I would consider the hit rating Stiff compaired to a coker cue sorry my knowledge limited to the cues i have owned.

my Bobby hunter has ivory ferrules that might lean toward a stiff hit which I like.

If I had to rated My Bobby hunter cue on a scale from 1 to 10 overall cue performance feel feed back looks I would rate it a 9 because I havent tried out other hi end cues like a Barry S or a gina.
I would love to own a pj hunter becase my hunter is fancey and it makes me nevous to take it to some of the places I shoot pool.

Bobby is a soft spoken person and a nice guy willing to help almost everyone out. if nothing else You should e mail him to find out his prices.
everytime I have e mailed him or called him he has always got back in touch with me right away.
Good luck with you search
