Well if 90% of the people that read the poll don't really care and decide not to vote, then that's really the real result of the poll, not what the other 10% think....
But, I suspect that you indeed might get 200+ responses (anyone want to go with an over/under on that) which would maybe be approaching 10% of the members that log in here in a week (or whatever)...but you're right...it still is what it is in any case, results wise....
That member above my post -- meximan2469 -- stated this morning that he created the schedule for Bonus Ball to occurr the exact same time as the Southern Classic, a tournament that Greg Sullivan scheduled well over a year ago before Bonus Ball entered the United States from Canada.
Bonus Ball cancelled their start dates over and over again from 2012 to 2013. Finally, Bonus Ball gets their construction permits in order, complete their venue site, and instead of meximan2469 looking at dates of already-existing American tournaments promoted by well-respected and valued American promoters, meximan2469 scheduled Bonus Ball to overlap with the Southern Classic.
I hope this provides some clarification.
The part in RED is straight up propaganda.
Your poll is titled `` Bonus Ball Schedule: Right or Wrong``
You end your question and then put in a statement of your own strong feelings before barely touching on the other viewpoint.
Here is what I said ...........
I made the WPBL schedule. If you want answers to any of the questions feel free to PM me directly.
Here are a few bullet points to help you out.
- Ultimate 10 ball takes place during the off days of our schedule so it was much easier to move around one day.
- We made a 26 week commitment to our players and as it is we are barely finishing before Thanksgiving, Mosconi Cup and the Christmas season.
- If we avoided Southern Classic that would be 2 weeks, CSI events in July add another 2 weeks, The US open 9 ball add another week. End of November turns into early mid January.
- Consistency: We want our fans to know that every week they can tune into WPBLtv.com and see Live matches.
- Each team has (2) Alternates they may use at anytime no one has been told they cannot attend any tournaments. The Players are making their own choices.
- Each player was asked which events they wished to attend while the scheduling process was being made Atlanta and Houston asked for the Southern Classic .....so they don`t play those weekends.
- ``kittykat`` is obviously Barry Bremner or ``vpbb123`` who was banned from this forums months ago and also has signed a piece of paper that specifically says he may not be doing anything like this..... He is not to be viewed as a representative of the WPBL or any of its affiliates.
-$1,000,000 added money. No entry fees. A true invitational.
Thanks for your time.
Dave
I voted WRONG. Way WRONG.
Bonus Ball should have actually been completed with season 1 by the time these events started anyhow, except they have guys in charge that are not thinking or seeing things thru correctly. The delays of the start since November are no ones fault except Bonus Balls, they hired the contractors that they obviously did not check up on. If started on time in November this discussion would not be taken place nor would Bonus Ball have to defend itself, as the season would be over.
This game will never make TV in the U.S. not and succeed, it's just to complicated for the average billiards fan. For one they don't like straight pool, nor one pocket or banks. Those games are dead to them. And it most definitely will NEVER EVER make it onto the wagering boards of casino sportsbooks, the gaming commission will not allow that.
So Bonus Ball didn't have a problem with extending their start date from 2012 to 2013, a 6-month period, if I recall, but yet Bonus Ball, under your direction, did have a problem adjusting its schedule to not interfere with American promoters who have been providing pool events long before Bonus Ball ever came to this country from Canada? So without regard to the American pool industry already existing, a fractured industry at that, Bonus Ball comes to America and steps on American promoters.
Am I understanding you correctly?
Season number 2 is scheduled to start the first week of February (after the DCC) and run during the down time of most major american events. This was our goal in the first place but due to the unforeseen construction issue we have been pushed back until now. In a perfect world we would have started in November of this year but that just was not an option. Our investors needed the product to be able to sell, as we all know it is tough to sell from an empty cart.
And as far as the cost. $13k per week which Nathan said it would cost to close, which I highly doubt that's the cost. If I recall Mark Griffin offered to pay this bill, now how could you not reschedule the matches or let the players film double the matches(make-up) in one week, so they, the players could benefit from playing all events, which most are already there(Tunica). You are losing nothing, someone else is paying your over inflated bill.
Industry people like Mark is bending over backwards to make it right, hes going as far as to pay your rent, lol. The PLAYERS, shame on them for being scared to chime in. They are the biggest cowards I've ever seen, I know I've heard from 3 that they think it's B.S., but they are never going to speak publicly
Who are your investors? I think it might be a good idea to let them know what the American pool fans think of the scheduling Bonus Ball has put into effect. I personally would like to make it my mission to spell it out for them.
Do you have a list you can share?
No I cannot. Sorry. But I will make sure to pass on your feeling next time I speak with them.
Me too -- wish they would give the players some schedule relief for the southern classic give Greg sullivan some support after all he has done for pool and also for Bonus Ball when they needed him.
Starting a poll and then giving a long winded explanation on why someone should vote one way..... This is laughable.
Propaganda: Information, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.
If folks have no opinion, then they don't vote. Problem solved!![]()
