Bonus Ball should copy other pro sports leagues

I've really enjoyed watching Bonus Ball. The game is a breath of fresh air.
I love the team concept. I think Larry Chiborak came up with a great idea, but for bonus ball to succeed they should have followed the format from other pro sports leagues. For example selling teams to owners who are responsible for team salaries, travel expenses, etc. These owners would have a venue in their cities where they would host matches allowing them to recoup expenses. This would build a fan base in each city.

There would be a commissioner, like all sports leagues, responsible for running the league. There would be set rules and player codes of conduct to oversee.

All franchise owners would have to supply uniform equipment, such as tables with standard pocket size, balls, lighting, uniforms and fan seating. Live streaming would be set up in each venue so fans from all over the world could watch their favorite team.

The Las Vegas arena limits the ability for the sport to grow. individual cities with their own teams allows for much more growth potential. Look at MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL and MLS. All of these sports have doubled in size since they started because of local fan base and TV.

Bonus ball could start with 12 teams and grow from there if a TV network shows interest in the game. This would bring a great deal more revenue
to the game and eliminate internet live streaming which does not provide the same quality as real TV.

In closing, I wish Bonus ball the best of luck. These ideas could be set in Bonus ball's second season.

I agree that it would be pretty cool to watch in person if they traveled around- Hard Times or House of Billiards around here would probably host. However, it probably isn't feasible financially at this point. Easier to have a central location like Vegas.

perhaps that is a longer-term goal. I am sure the $ the leagues (allegedly)make in the USA has not gone unnoticed,

If it catches on i'm sure some teams might get sponsored. IMO the city names are just placeholders and it could be the Kamui Scorpions or OB Outlaws without much trouble if someone wanted to take over player contracts.

Just look at Esports all the pro teams have multiple sponsors, the South Korean phone company owns a team, the South Korean army had a team for over a decade since every male South Korean has to serve his time in the military, good players could keep playing even during their tours.

But who knows if BB will catch on or not.

Until they can prove that BB is a money making venture, I can't see pool rooms ponying up money. You have a lot of items on there that are the pool rooms' monetary responsibilty, but a lot of those same rooms seem to be struggling just to survive. If/when BB catches on and can show that individual owners/teams can post a profit by hosting a team, only then can one expect a room to enter into the fray.
