Bonus Ball

I like it but it is geared towards the amature or the public and not the serious player but who cares... I think its a great game that could possibly attract more new players to this wonderful game.

Its almost snooker like :thumbup:
 
just by accident/chance i was there with rodney,ja,cory,shane and they were playing it and going over the rules etc and they all like the game, i do too.

there is 2 sets of rules-one for amatures and one for advanced to proffesionals. Its a cool game, there is a score board that goes with it that looks great and will make the game a winner for bars to install it.

Its a fun game because there is a nice balance of offencence and defence, it works for all level of players too.

I hope it sells,
 
Historically these types of games that require specialized balls never sell unfortunately. There have been a few instances throughout the last century.

Joe Davis tried to sell a game called snooker plus. It had two extra coloured balls. It didn't take long for manufacturers to stop making these balls.

It's tough to sell a game that requires a different set of balls that can only be used for that game.

dont know if I can afford a game I have to buy a scoreboard and balls for.
 
Was just watching my video of the month dvd from accustats featuring SVB vs Kirkwood and they were talking about bonus ball. So I looked up everything I could about it and I couldn't even see anywhere where I could order the set.

I figured you could easily set your cell phone for a 10 minute timer then use solids for the orange then stripes for the purples and the 8 ball for the bonus ball and play it anytime.
 
using the solids and stripes is what i've been doing to practice. the last time i talked to larry he was using the prototype balls, he's still waiting for production sets from aramith to come in. using only three colors for balls is much easier than using solids and stipes as there' s so much to worry about already.

using the cell as a timer is tricky, there are times where the timer needs to be paused, and its nice to be able to see it clearly on a scoreboard. the next time i play barry i'll ask him if he's goingto have a downloadable scoreboard that someone can download onto their computer and bring to the hall to play.
 
All I can say is I watched it at the open as an exhibition. Then I watched it out on the floor several times as they explained all of the rules and elements. In every instance I walked away shaking my head... I'm still shaking it.

I seem to always have to remind or be reminded whether I am solids or stripes when I rarely play eight ball. I can only Imagine having to explain why the balls and pockets change on the break.

I like the concept and hope they do well but wowsers. And I didn't even think about the part where I carried my own balls and scoreboard into the room with me. I already get grief for carrying in a set of centennials every place I go.
 
the game isn't for everyone, if you have to be reminded if you're high or low then you're playing the wrong game. i'm lucky enough to be playing out of larry's old establishment where i have access to a set of balls and scoreboard for the game.
