Book about woods

I'm on Amazon searching for some kind of book which could be a "reference" book about the different woods properties - like densities, glue-ability and all the other things we need to know about on the different wood types out there.
Is there any one who have anything to recommend ?

World Woods in Color is good,Commerical Woodas of Africa is good and there is a CD set called Wood Explorer that i like the best.it has so many more species than the books.

Not my forte, but one of the wood books I have is entitled "Wood handbook:" There are others on here that will be able to help further with reference materials.

Once you decide on the books you want, I would suggest that you check the following inline book stores. These usually have books for far less than Amazon. Some are new and some are used. I've gotten $30-50.00 books for $1-15.00.

I needed some computer books at work and added these for personal inspiration :

The Real Wood Bible: The Complete Illustrated Guide to Choosing and Using 100 Decorative Woods

Taunton's Complete Illustrated Guide to Finishing (Complete Illustrated Guides (Taunton))

World Woods in Color [Hardcover] by Lincoln, William Alexander

Veneering: A Foundation Course (for my loudspeaker work:D )

So now it's just to wait and dig in when it drops down in my mail.

CueDog: I used the "Used&NEW" link and in stead of paying ?47 ($103) I payed $48.

It did help a lot. I have bookmarked all you're mentioned pages and I would use them for later searches.

For now I have a fair amount of books heading my way so I guess I would be "booked" he he for a long time now :D

The Encyclopedia of Wood is the best I have found so far.
