Can anybody recommend a really good, handy little book of pool drills (9 ball in particular) for intermediate to advanced?

Drill Book

I've got a really good manuscript of pool drills sorted by skill level, shot type, ect... If your interested let me know. I think it's better than anything I've seen out there.

The Advanced Pro Book by Bob Henning

I agree completely, although I am just guessing that the 'Advanced' book is as good as the original "Pro Book". Either one would be a good investment.

Does it involve reference shots like the orginal Pro Book, or is it a different format.

I think reference shots are a good idea and I'm currently working on the orginal Pro Book.

As an instructor, what's your take on learning reference shots?

THE PRO BOOK by Henning really improved my game and I'm getting ready to purchase THE ADVANCED PRO BOOK by him as well.

Is there anyplace that sells it for less that $39.95 at Mueller's?

Are there any DVD's that compliment the ADVANCED PRO BOOK?

Thanks for the suggestion, Randy. Just bought it for half-price, used, on eBay. Can't wait to get it!

PRO SKILL DRILLS is the #1 Selling Book & DVD in Pool Today

Hi Everyone,

I'm Dominic "The Drill Instructor" Esposito, for POOL & BILLIARD Magazine and producer of PRO SKILL DRILLS.

First off, thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives and hopefully be adding something positive to your pool games.

PRO SKILL DRILLS Volume 2 has just been released. 52 great drills for 9 & 8 Ball, One Pocket, Straight & Bank Pool.

Please go to our site at www.PROSKILLDRILLS.com and prepare to be blown away.

There is nothing in my work about "How To Play Pool."

If you need help with your fundamentals, then check out what everybody else has produced. These other books will help you well to get a firm grasp on basics and over all play development.

PSD is 100% Drills for Level 1: Intermediate to Level 2: Pro level players.

NO FLUFF to fill pages.

The DVD is TV broadcast production quality. The book sits on the rail of the table while you shoot because of the spiral binding.

Order on line or call us at 1-888-784-7574

Have to plug this, but I'll do it briefly: http://billiardsdrills.com/.

It's free, not very complete at this point, but growing. And if you have a drill you'd like to add or submit, we take 'em! It should complement whatever book(s) you do decide to buy.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the materials promoted by 2 of our prominent forum members; Joe Tucker (JoeT) and Bob Jewett.

JoeT has a FABULOUS little book of drills, the "Guaranteed Improvement" booklet. If you already have a repeatable, sound, precise stroke then this booklet will DEFINITELY take you to a new level - especially for the 9-ball devotee's. I'll post a more detailed review in the next week or two. I like the drills in this book much better than Bob Hennings'; though the Pro Book is fairly good also.

Bob Jewett has a site (I think its spfbilliards.com, or something like that - sorry I don't know it off the top of my head) that has an excellent section of "progressive" drills. Very well thought out.
