Book & video recommendations

:confused:Having posted for info on full splice construction i was advised to acquire videos or books from different sources. After going to several sites I have settled on 3 potential providers. Cueman ie Hightower books and videos, Brianna Products, and Cue components.com. All seem reputable and prices are comparable.
Can any one who may have used these products give a recommendation as to there quality or usefulness. Is there one that might be better than the others. I know this is quite subjective from one person to another but any input would be helpful.
I am mostly interested in full splice construction but thru my quest for that info I find I'm developing a thirst for the whole picture. I'm not adverse to investing in all 3 if the info is diverse enough to warrant that.

If Full Splice techniques are all you want to learn then you would only need Advanced Volume One DVD and the Book, the other DVD's I made would help you very little. But if you want a over all look at what it takes to build a cue from scratch then you would need all four DVD's and Book. I have heard good things about Cue Components DVD series also.

They are both very insightful, and required reading/viewing for any aspiring cue maker or person interested in what it takes to build a custom cue. Unfortunately, it looks WAY to easy in the videos. Try it once, and you'll have a new appreciation for all of the beautiful cues that you see out there. :D

All three sources are good information. Lets not forget about Unique Products. Their videos are also good though they center around cue repair. If you want to know just about full splices though, then Chris's book and video is your clear choice. I own all of them and Chris is the only one who provides this information. I believe the reason is that it takes too much effert to make a full splice over the price that you can just buy a blank for. This brings up another point. If you buy information from Chris then buy a blank from him as well.

good luck in your search. Jim.

IMHO, Chris's book and videos are great. I think the book is required reading for any aspiring cuemaker. I've heard good things about the Cue Components videos also, but have not seen them myself. I have no idea about the Brianna Products videos.
