Boston - anyone want to play?

Hi,

I'm going to be in Newton tomorrow (tuesday) night. Does anyone want to hit 'em around? I'm not looking to gamble, and haven't hit a ball in quite a while, so don't expect excitement. And, even if no one wants to play, can anyone recommend a good pool room where I could watch good players? I'm not into loud bar type places - like most here, I like "serious" poolrooms. Are there any in boston?

Thanks!

Hey,

Sorry to say I can't meet you. If you are going downtown I highly recommend Boston Billiards on Brookline Ave. It is literally steps away from Fenway Park.

Not sure what is in and around Newton though.

Hope this helps,
Koop

Thanks for the response. I have a car, and don't mind driving, just in case someone knows a great place within about a half hour drive of Newton.

Boston Billiards seems nice during the day, but maybe a lonely place to shoot pool alone at night. I'd love to go there if someone wanted to meet up.

I believe Renaissance Billiards in Quincy (about 15-20 min south of Boston) has a Tuesday night tournament. There are often some decent players. I don't know for sure what their turn outs have been like lately. Joey Dupuis is probably the top gun at these tourneys. He shoots strong A-open speed. Very fluid game and nice to watch. For more info I believe their number is 617-847-3959. I think this place isn't too loud. 4 nice Diamond Pros up front and a bunch of Gold Crowns in the back.

Last time I was in Boston I could not get a game at Boston Billiards or Jillians. I was out in Newton for a Wedding and I could not even find a Pool table.

Thanks everyone. I'll check out the quincy poolhall.

Renaissance is my home room. Sorry to say I won't be able to make it but if you need directions etc...just drop me a line.

Regards,
Koop

Hey man,

I actually haven't seen Joey in at least a month. There are usually around 4-5 A players along with a slew of B players at the tournament.

Do you go there?

There is also COrner Pocket in Waltham, 10 min away of rt 60.

Ask the desk guy if there is any players.
