A friend of mine just got a pool table and it came with a bottle and numbered cubes, he wanted to know what game is played using them. I didn't have a clue. What are they used for?

originaly these were used for kelly pool.9,10, or 15 ball rack, everyone drew a pill, if you made someones ball they paid you ,if you made your own everyone paid you, then the last ball was also the money ball.rarely seen played anymore, now the pills are used to determine partners, shooting order and such.

Mostly they're used to increase the number of "pieces" your dealer gets to claim the Premium Accessory Kit comes with!:D

They're used for making you post on this forum asking what they're for.

Hey, it worked! :D

In the South they called it Crazy Kelly, each player would draw 2 pills, the first one to have both pills pocketed won, no matter who made the balls. The 16 was a free ball, if you got the 16 you only had to make the other ball. You would start shooting at the 1, 8, or 15. Once 1 of those were pocketed, you could shoot the one next to it. if you made the 1, then the 2 was alive, if you made the 8, you could shoot the 7 or nine were good balls. We had so many crooks in our poolroom, we would have to count the pills in the jug after every game, people would keep the good ones and not put them back in the jug.
