Assuming I am a cuemaker would charge $2K for a 4 point 4 venner cue, what would you expect to pay for a veneered box cue?
Pics with examples would be good.
Thanks,
Ken

Ken_4fun said:The ones noted are what I had in mind. I sent my down payment to a cuemaker with a 5 year wait and told him I just wanted a standard 4 point, 4 veneered cue, and after a year and half wait I think I want this cuemaker to make a box veneered cue.
I am sure he hasnt even thought about my cue, but I wanted to know if the cost of changing might be another 1-2K over my initial cue cost.
So my question if I can get my original cue for approximately 2K, is the reasonable upcharge another $1000?
I have bought several cues over the years but never one of this type.
Thanks, and I hope I made myself clear.

TheWizard said:Here's probably the 2 best images that I could get of this cue stick, as in the series episode, there wasn't any close enough camera angle showing the entire butt of the cue stick, and so, I just tried the best I could
I do know, that in the episode Al (Dean Stockwell) mentions, that it is 21oz, in weight made with Ebony and inlaid with MoP, but the this cue stick is a mystery, as I can't even find out who made this cue, to try and get a better picture of it, oh well, I liked the challenge of finding a few good pics at least

Si, I'm gonna have to have a serious chat with you, because I'm slowly turning into another cue freak and you're not helping matters![]()

A guy around here named PENNY owns one of the original Josswest Gina styled cues, and had Bob Frey make an exact duplicate for him to use as a daily player that is phenomenal (and exact to the original)!
Joss made a N-20 I believe in his 95 series (see bottom cue on attachment), that was similar, meaning, inspired by this design, but not as fancy or exact. See attached photo. I've also attached a photo of the original GINACUE, (Thanks Fast N' Loose) so you can compare.
Also, looking through my collection of flyers/adds I see that in the 90's Schon produced an LTD-289 that was titled the "Ed Kelly" model. I've seen one on ebay for big bucks, and it is strongly influenced by the GINA but no where near a duplicate. Schon also put out an LTD 221 that is similar to the 289, but I actually think it looks CLOSER to the Gina in design. Real beautiful work.
