Jenn,

I dont know if anyone ever asked about this, but is the placing in the brackets random? IE its not a #1 vs #64 in the first match.

Now if it isnt like that, when are we going to see a Allison Fisher vs Karen Corr match up in the first round lol.

I was curious about the bracket is done up after looking at the bracket for the last tournament.

The WPBA seeds their brackets based on the points list. The top 16 players are spread out so that no one in the top 16 has to play another top 16 player until the third round, and the #1 and #2 players are always on exact opposite sides of the board so they don't play each other until the finals on the winners side assuming they both win all of their matches.

The UPA does something similar, but not as drastic.

Thats what i originally thought, but wasnt sure.

But now doesnt that make it kinda difficult if the same person, is always facing Allison Fisher in the opening match? how is she ever suppose to get any points or be able to move up in rankings?

Or is it just the top 16 players that get the special slots in the brackets?
 
Ok, well thats always a plus, cuz it would suck to play Allison, or Karen, or Jeanette all the time, lol.


So does this mean your going to be put into a random slot for the next tournament??
 
Nope...I'm in the top 16 (#11, I think) so I won't have to play another top 16 until the 3rd round. Someone ranked 32-64 will be randomly drawn into my bracket.
 
Bottom 32...16-32 are randomly drawn in alternating spots so if they win the first round they are guaranteed to play a top 16 (as long as the top 16 player wins, too.)
