In the Philippines, pool players are not really prudent. We always say that it was a lucky win, etc., or that we aren't as good as we really are. That is because back here, being prudent is part of haggling for handicaps.

But let me veer from that. :)

Rotation. 1 set all. Third set, decision game. Last two balls - 14 and 15. I over-drew the shot as I drilled the 14 in the right corner pocket with a fairly long distance shot. The 15 was resting down the other end of the rail (somewhere near the 1st dot, right near corner pocket). The cue ball ended up frozen inside the lip of the left near corner pocket, obscuring the 15. I was lucky I didn't scratch. Last ball, last game, and some money on the line!

I could have let him take a spot, but that's like letting MJ take a free throw. I thought of a masse, but that would leave me defenseless with a miss. Or I could have used a one-banker with a prayer for a good leave. I opted to go three rails, and among everybody watching, I was the most surprised that I made the 15 into the right near corner pocket!

Many times, I could not sleep after a bad loss. This time, I didn't sleep gloating on my lucky shot. (Can't help being Filipino) lol

i don't know how to do this pool table thing. the shot on the nine was something like this,,,,may be straighter.

hmmm.. Break shot using a house cue ....6 ball on the break !!!

I almost forgot I sunk the CB too so thats 7 balls on the break !!!

oh another one

3 consecutive 9 ball on the break...too bad on the third I sunk the CB too...

Okay so I am a lousy shot, but I am sure lucky at breaking balls...

Hmmm - How about most memorable session. Road player was in town, so I went down to see what was up. Player and his 3 man crew are obvious. I get a table near him - he approaches, I haggle the 7, 8 and breaks - race to 7 for 200$. He got 2 shots in the first set, and was PISSED. We scrap the spot, he wins 1 game in the next set. His boys steped up to brawl, but the house was on my side because I was a local. I dont think he has been back.

Funny part was I played totally out of my mind that night. Quick way to kill your action around town tho.

Breaking a nine ball rack ($10 bet)...made 7 balls on the break and was hooked behind the 9 ...had to hit the 7...I luckily won the rack!

One of the most memorable shots I made was quite a few years ago when I was in my 20's, playing some road player for $1000 race to 11- 9-ball. It was hill-hill, and I attempted to play safe on the by thinning it. I let the pressure take over me, and I hit the 9-ball too thick and too hard, causing the cueball to double kiss it and sink the 9 in the nearest corner pocket. Needless to say the next set we doubled the bet and I lost 11-5.

I know this does not compare to some of you guys, but for me it was pretty good. Saw where the one was and where the nine was and said to myself, 'I can do this'.

This is not exact but it was a tap the one, double kick in the nine.

Not my shot. I once played a guy called
Lucky Joey at the Diamond Billiards in
Charleston,WV, for money in 1 hole.
He won 4 straight games 8-7 & kept
saying he was getting lucky. I told
myself 1 more game. If he beats me
by ANYTHING other than 8-7 I'll
keep playing. I had him 7-0,had
a ball by my pocket & the cue ball
was frozen in the MIDDLe of the
opposite end of the table.Balls were
in the way & he couldn't knock my ball
out. There was a ball on the spot.
He cut it in, FROZEN on the rail
from the OPPOSITE end of the table;
the cue ball came in behind my ball
& knocked it out of my pocket,
& he ran the other 7 balls & beat
me 8-7. Joey said " I got lucky'
& I said " I gotta go."

Hitting the 7 isn't hard if you read the diamonds, but it's always nice when the ball actually drops. :D

my most memorable shot would be, uhmm it was not a very crucial shot, actually its the 1 ball on a 15-ball rotation game, i broke, 2 balls came in, then i cant get a line of shot for the 1 ball, seeing it as a very small risk to miss the 1 ball, i tried a masse shot, the cb was around a ball and a half away from the 1 ball but i think it was the 8-ball covering the 1.
i told my friend i was going to pot it in the side using a masse shot, of course he knew i was joking, i also know i was just fooling around, hell, i raised my cue up to around 50 degrees, put on just the right amount of right english so i would not miscue, the cb drew a perfect *U* to the 1 ball pocketing it to the side pocket, not only that, i got good preparation for the next ball and ran i think 5 or 6 balls...:D

in a Team competition its all square , winner of my match decides who goes into the final. I coundt make the 8ball on my last shot and the guy has left me snookered . Hotting it wasnt the problem, it wasnt enough. Even if I hit it ,I would leave a simple runout.

I saw the that the 8 if hit hard and thin enough would pot in the middle.. The problem was coming off the rail with E and hitting the 8 thin.

I called it in the middle, the looked to his team mates with a look of disbelief.

You should have saw his face when I hit it perfectly and the8 slowly made its way to the middle pocket. Plop.

I did get a lot of pleasure out of that one.

Well last month i was in this pool hall playing my brother who is not that good and he can never beat me. the game was 8ball and there were 2 balls on the table my 8 and his 9 and i was stuck behind his 9. I looked at his face and he was thinking I could finally beat him!!!! I was a good 6 feet away from the 8 I raised my cue and called the 8 in the corner i told him to watch out because normaly when i jump a ball i jump right over the table. He moved, i took some warm up strokes and fired!!! I made the 8 like it had eyes that was one of the longest jumps i have ever made!!! my brother"s face sunk and once again i was the winner!

Plato: The problem with hearing stories of pool players greatest shots is the fish does grow. Let the player tell the story long enough, the crappie he caught in the lake, is now a 1000 lb blue marlin.

:p

I dont fish Plato.

[ Ive got another one ;) ]

I am 65yr , I dont believe I have made that shot yet, I cant remember any of my shots. but at my age it is like a fine woman, they are all good!!!!! STICK.

I played a tournament on Monday night in which I have to spot everyone the 7+8. I make my way through the winner's side to the finals, where my opponent wins the (double elimination) first race to 2. He played a perfect set: broke, pushed out, played a (kinda lucky) safe, got BIH/ ran out. Next game he missed a ball, left me safe, I kicked and he ran out.

Recall, this is double elimination and I play better. I win the first game, get BIH on a tough rack and get out. Except the 9. Straight in/ near pocket- dogged it and take 2nd place. Lovely.

MOTHER FU(&er!!

while practicing about 10 years ago I made a jump and masse shot at the same time on purpose pocketing the object ball. I have never seen it done before or since in 25 years of playing pool.
