They had 3 available, so I had to take the chance. I have the eBay and PayPal guarantee, so even if it's too good to be true, I'll get my money back. What do you guys think? A mis-listing?

Looks like the guy changed the price to $5,499. I'm waiting for the email for him trying to cancel the sale.

Not what you think it is

Those are not Diamond tables they have. If you are near Georgia there is 9' on Ebay with light , balls ect...

You better cancel that purchase ASAP, returnibg it will not be cheap.

Listings decptive

The cheap ones say "home table"
Then they have "Professional" tables for 7-8 K.
Looks like classic bait and switch.
Your listing is already down. I see home tables for 1200 with them. Imported junk.

Well, the bait and switch is against eBay's rules. I'm going to send the guy a message. He's using the same swatch as on Diamond's actual site, yet there's no picture of the actual table. I still see the listing up, but at $5499.

Also, the "home table" actually comes from Diamond themselves. That's how it's listed on their site: http://www.diamondbilliards.com/index.php/home-tables/professional

gameroom guys always has mistakes in their listings.

Let us know how it turns out for you

I don't know what's going on because now the listing is back to $949, so it seems like they know exactly what they're doing. The price was changed to $5,499 after I bought it and now they've changed it back to $949. It's obvious (to me anyway) that they know what's going on. They are also an authorized Diamond reseller, so I don't think I'll get some cheap knockoff as Diamond would pull their reseller authorization in a second if they were selling crap with the Diamond name on it.

Gameroomguys

I've made a couple of large purchases (> $3,000) through gameroomguys.com and have never had any issues with them. I believe they are reasonably reputable retailers.

They do resell diamond products including the Pro-am, lights, etc... Given the asking price, this is clearly a listing error. I'd be very surprised if this was either a bait & switch or intentional.

FWIW you can go directly to their web site and call them during business hours.

Best of luck.

If it sounds to good to be true...

You know what I'm sayin-but I bought a Gold Crown 4 1/2 by 9 for $500 only to find out it was a fake Chinese knockoff. I lucked out, however, and resold it to a weekend warrior looking for a home table for $1000. The table was an exact replica but had no Brunswick trademarks anywhere on it. Although it looked identical it did not play like a gold crown.
Watch out the Chinese are counterfeiting everything including currency:angry::angry:

Stop your payment

Buddy you are going to get screwed.
They know exactly what they are doing there.
Better read their return and restocking fees. Will probably come to 500, making your 950 chinese table not so hot.

Someone has a real 9 foot diamond for 3800 with light balls ect. Get their contact info and buy it if you live near Georgia. Off Ebay2800-3000 probably buys it.

Not getting "screwed". I'm just not getting the table. And you obviously don't understand how things work on eBay as there is a guarantee that if I don't get exactly what's described, I get my money back.

Also, you can stop pushing your table. That's twice you bring it up. I'm not going to buy your pool table. If you would open your eyes, it says under my name I'm in Columbus, OH, not Georgia. You can go create a listing in the buy/sell section if you want to sell it.

No dog in this fight, but I've never seen or heard of a Diamond table made from any kind of maple. Oak, cherry, mahogany...but never maple. I guess I could be wrong, but I don't think so. :D

Hope Diamond Stays Strong

Given what I've noticed recently, too, with Diamond on Ebay, and considering the state of the pool industry, makes you wonder...

As a player, I see Diamond as makers of fantastic products, innovative, and a great steward of the game by giving back to the industry. Pure five star on every level!

But the pragmatic in me sees a small US company in a shrinking niche industry that, on one hand, competes against cheap foreign-made products, and on the other, an ocean of a secondary market with craigslist, ebay, etc. Plus, with the shrinking uptake in the billiards market given that poolrooms are almost unsustainable now with overhead and societal entertainment shifts, it's almost the perfect storm.

I hope they can continue to stay strong. Their headwinds must be brutal....

I have a cherry-stained maple Diamond Professional at home. Oak is their standard wood and anything else is an upgrade. There is also the option to have dymondwood rails, but if you do that, they don't offer the rounded corners because the dymonwood is so hard on their equipment.

Thanks Matt! I have seen the "cherry" too, but for some reason I thought it was cherry wood! LOL My bad! How about some pics of your table? Thanks for posting!

I had a guy ask me the other day if I knew of anyone wanting a pool table, or many pool tables. He closed a room and has several. I would say someone could get a diamond bar box for around 2,000 and a diamond 9 footer for around 2,500 to 3,000. He also has some valley bar boxes and gold crowns. They are located around Boaz, Al.
