My mechanic told me today that there is an app for the iPhone where you can have your iPhone clock your break speed. anybody know anything about this? does it work? i searched and didnt find anything.

telephone Break Speed APP

call Craig York... he is the owner-Inventor 972-951-7040

Its called break speed and it works great. I have checked the accuracy with 3 iphones/ipods calculating the break speed of the same break and they are all within 1/10 of a mph.

Its a pretty simple thing, it just calculates the time between when the cue ball is struck and the head ball.

Have any of you Break Speed App users been able to post your speeds on Facebook with the Facebook icon? I'm still having problems with it after both updates. App itself works perfect.

So, since i am computer illiterate - and pretty much illiterate overall - how do i get this to my iPhone? do i download it to my home PC and then "Sync" it to my iPhone.

Thanks for the help. this forum is profoundly unique and helpful!

Simply find and press the App store button in your Iphone. Search for the Break Speed app and download it.

Ok, i have this Break Speed app downloaded to my iPhone. going to go home and give it a try tonight. when i was over at Mark Wilson's a few years ago his radar gun had me about 16, 17, and 19. anxious to see if i am close to this on the iPhone.

and for you posters that have this, i assume i just prop the iPhone up on the rail somehow so it can pick up the CB as it goes by?

i got this to work last night. placed the CB on the App to where i normally break, and broke away. what i normally break at was measured at 18.4 and then i tried to hit them a little harder and got up to 20.3.

thats about where i figured i would be. i think that radar gun over at Mark Wilson's must be on the slow side.
