Break cue butt?...

Does the butt on a break cue make any difference in how it breaks? I ask this because I have an older meucci cue just sitting around and was thinking I could buy a good break shaft for it. Just wondering if it the butt matters at all. I know the reputation of meuccis being whippy, but I'm assuming that is all in the shaft, correct? Any help would be appreciated.

I know a guy that put a phenolic tip on a meucci cue. See him in San dusky and other pool tournys every year with the same cues. 4 years strong now.
 
The whippiness in a Meucci is in the shaft not the butt.

Get an OB break shaft to fit the 5/16" x 18 Meucci pin

Great break shaft that uses the Samsara legal leather break tip.
