Break cue conversion sort of?

Not sure how to word that but here's the idea. I'm getting a new cue in a few months and frankly I can't justify spending 250$+ on a break cue when I would have my original cue that would get no play. Can I just get a new ferrule and tip on my old cue and use it for a break cue? Would I need a different shaft? Change the weight screw?
 
Short answer, yes. Change the ferrule and tip. Cheap way to a break cue.

You can also get a break shaft for it instead. A bunch more money.


I would say try a break tip and ferrule and see how you like it.

By far the cheapest way.

Will it be any good? Only one way to find out.

I break with a £50 crappy cue I've had for years. Super stiff, nice and light and works great. Put a new ferrule and an icebreaker on it and I prefer it over any break cue I've ever tried.

I know there's been this big push with the forward weighting of break cues but I can't really think that there's that much of a difference especially since I don't shoot tournaments or anything although I have been known to get into some high dollar races to 5 for a beer with friends
