Break Cue Length - What do you think?

I have Joss two cues that are quite the same. Both close to 18.5 oz. One has a 30-inch shaft and the other a 29 inch. I use a hard Moori tip on each. Would the longer or shorter shaft cue be better as my break cue? Reason? Right now, I use the 30-inch shaft for breaking...no scientific reasoning. Well... (Barbox 8-ball with a front ball smash break.)

This goes into the ... what is comfortable for you category ...

Which do you like? pick one

I'd be curious to know what people's takes are on the various different length of break cues are out there. IIRC Mezz had a shorter one, the Power Break II I believe, Fury had one too...

it is your preference .... break with a house cue if it tickles your fancy .....

I have found that the balance is far more important to me than the length or the weight. The balance is more or less independent of the length.

The length of the shaft will change the balance because the balance is properly measured from the tip to the grip.

I mostly break with whichever cue I'm playing with, all are 58' except my DZ, which has a 30" shaft making it a 59" cue.
My tips Triangles and Le Pro's, with one each old Champion Chandivert, a dawgdud, and a Kamui M wich came with the DZ cue,
I'll change it to a Triangle or Le Pro soon, I just want to prove a point to a few guys about the Kamui hype. (BS). lol
I do have a brand new Pechauer Naked Break Cue w/ Black Ice shaft I haven't used yet. Shaft weighs 6.5oz.

It seems like you might be able to get into the cue ball harder or wind up that much further.

I break AND play with cues that are 60". Personal preference.

For versatility purposes I had Jacoby make me a custom 31" butt. So any type shaft, breaker or player, 29" long will make the cue 60". I use a Pechauer Black Ice shaft with that butt for breaking, and I love the results.
