break cue sleeve

Not sure what type of sleeve others use, but I use silk sleeves made from thrift store silk ties.
I keep this on my cue for all shots though. Since I shoot with either hand, a pool glove was not practical. The sleeve fits tight enough on the cue to stay put where it is pictured, I leave it there for shots where it would be a distraction or when I do not choose to use it.
The silk does make for a nice smooth slide on the shaft. This does not eliminate the need to keep the cue and sleeve clean. They will pick up a lot of chalk in a surprising short time. That is why I always carry a few. Not bad at $.50 a tie at the thrift store.

I use it for for loop and open bridges as well.
It also works as a pad between the shaft and rail when bridging on the rail, this allows me to keep the butt of the cue as low as possible, with no friction from the rail or chance of marring the shaft.
