I finally achieved CB control with the phenolic tip on the Sledgehammer. Now, I am reading that other tips are harder eg. G-10. What are the facts?

yes G-10 is harder than phenolic and the X-breaker 3rd gen tip is harder than G-10.

I'm using a Talisman x-hard on my jb cue and I find that is hard enough to do the job. I just don't like the feel of the other materials.

Those talisman xtra hards are the hardest leather tip I have come acoss. I have 2 shafts on my break cue 1 with phenolic and one with a talisman xtra hard. I like the leather better for breaking and the phenolic for jumping

I have the same preference. Leather for Breaker and Phenolic for Jumper.
