Break Cue

I have read a lot of posts about different break cues. A lot of people are mentioning Fury jump/Break Cues and JJ Jump/Break cues are really good cues for the money. I am looking at spending $150 max for my new Break Cue. I would love a Predator or a Guylassy but those are out of my price range especially with the economy.

For the money I am looking at spending are these the best break cues? I will probably never use the jump part of a jump/break cue as I prefer to use the rails. Any suggestions are welcome.

If there are any posts that already have this information please advise me.

If you look around, there's always a few J&J jump/break cues on sale in the Wanted/Sales section. These can be had for about half of what you are willing to spend.

For the money, you can't beat'em.

Thanks. I found a nice J&J for $75 at billardwarehouse.com. I think I am leaning towards the sneaky pete style break or j/b cue.
 
j&j's are a good choice. Especially for the price. Ive got a jacoby jump break that cost more but i always go back to the j&j. It just breaks good

I just bought a Fury jump/break cue at the US Open for $150 (normally $180) and I really like it. The tip holds chalk so well that I can actually use it as a regular cue, except for draw shots. With the holidays, you might be able to pick up one - contact a dealer and work with them. Since the economy is so bad people may come down in price.
 
For the money J&J are the best. I have a Predator BK2 and suggest you hold out till christmas or save some and buy one. The only thing is they don't have a jump break combo. I've broke with many and control is way easier with the Predator hands down.

Thanks for the advice. The more I am thinking about it I might wait 6 more months and then be able to get a Predator BK2, Guylassey, or Tiger X Breaker.
I don't jump the ball on purpose so a jump/break cue is not necessary. Besides my table sits on a tile floor and jumping balls can cause havoc to a tile floor!

Patience is a virtue! You will not be disappointed with a BK2, Guylassey, or X-Breaker. I love my BK2 and wouldn't trade it for anything!

buy youre time and wait till you get enough for the one you like and wait till you come accross a good deal
 
i've tried about every break cue on the market: bk, gulyassy sledghammer, gulyassy by samsera, j&j, fury, stinger, lightning bolt, bunjee, varney, hightower, etc...

out of all of them my favorites are the lightning bolt with its 12 oz weight and g-10 tip/ferrule combo and the fury with what i think is a carbon fiber tip/ferrule combo, coming in a close second.

but really i dont like either as much as my $35 sports authority excalibur with saber-t ferrule and white diamond tip.
