Any of you guys Building Dedicated Break Cues that you are Proud Of???!!!!

I'm looking to try something new. Must have Maple Shaft (Using Purple Heart Now), G10 Ferrule and Break Tip. I love my current cue unless I'm using a Control Break.

NO JUMP/BREAKS !!!

Tell me what you got... I'm a paying Customer.

Thanks

I love my current cue unless I'm using a Control Break.

If you love what you are using....why search further?
Not sure what you mean by 'I love my current cue unless I'm using a "control break"' .....as most people try to control the break...more info would be needed in order to build a breaker that meets your expectations, like what you don't like with your current one.

I personally think one cue for each job one for play, break and one for jumps. So I don't build jump breaks.

But if you want a control break why the G10?

What does your cue have on it now?

G10 tip seems like the absolute worst option for a control break. There is NO give in G10. Try Taom, Samsara or Odega.

it looks like ProZack wants a G10 ferrule , not a tip+ferrule G10 combo .

Have you tried the commercial break cues, OB rift, Predator BK's or Mezz? Or do you specifically want a custom made one to suit your specific specs

I am truly amazed with the BK3, it is immensily powerful yet easily controllable on the break. It wont make you break like Shane, but that thing really works well for me.
Going to try a Taom on it just for the fun of it soon

The Purple Heart is Very Stiff and Great when Smashing the rack and Putting the ball in the Center.. BUT when I am using a Cut Break or 2nd Ball Break I can't Feel the Cue Ball.

Don' want to Go through the Trial and Error of Commercial Break Cues. And I DO NOT like Production cues.

I can`t see how that is the fault of the PH shaft..
If you play with a G10 tip - there`s your problem!

Have you tried any of them?
It`s great that you want to buy a custom cue and support a cuemaker, but I have tried quite a few break cues and it`s hard to compete with the Mezz powerbreak cues. Especially with the Deep Impact Pro R or H shaft.

IMHO, for cut break or 2d ball break, you don't need a break cue, your player will do the job.

My break shaft is in maple, 5.1oz, conical, 13mm with a taom tip & short ferrule. I would love to try the same combo in PH ... you wanna try the inverse choice... weird, isn't it ? hehe

Thats ok. Tell us what you want, apart from a maple shaft and G10 ferrule then :)

Weight
Tip diameter
Joint pin
Wrap or no wrap
Spliced, cored, jointed etc.
Woods you like

A while back I had a Pro get ahold of me that wantes a under 15 oz. cue , between the wood combos we built him a 4 pointes S-Pete with stiff shaft 13.8 added weight to get to 15 oz . He like it so much he wanted a -16 break jump , useing the same wood combo , and a uni-lock joint in the handle we got the cue to 15.8 . I shot and broke with both before they were delivered , I could use either with confidence .

I have a 3 corner carom cue , from Europe , I think , not sure , it has 4 butterflies at the butt , and 4 points , I installed a 1/2 x 8 wood pin . I put on a madman break tip , a original Palmer ferrel , 16 oz . and It breaks Great .

If interested PM me . here are some pictures .

Check out my website for "MERLIN" breakers.

I can recomend Bob's Merlin break cues. Very solid built cues, great taper on the purpleheart shafts too. Not sure if you use a different taper on your maple break shafts Bob?

I have started planning out my first cue build and I hope you take it as a compliment Bob, I'm gonna use your approach to building a break cue as I feel it's such a great form follows function way of building cues.
Mines gonna be purpleheart core, redheart forearm and buttsleeve with a blackwood handle.

Shaft Taper

I use the "modified Euro" taper on all my break cues, whether the shaft be oak, maple or PH, unless directed otherwise
