Does anyone make such a cue? The extension I'm referring to is a device inserted into the rear of the cue which allows you to extend the cue another 4-5 inches for use on stretch shots. I've seen this device on cues made by a guy in Canada and I know other people have used them too. Thanks.

A friend had a cue like this. I believe the brand was vintage, although I didn't hit very well with the extension being used.

Mike is right, Vintage is the only brand I know of that makes them. I know Players also make a cue with the built in extension (players S-PEC) but its not a J/B cue. BTW welcome to AZB mikeg6.

If you have to screw it in, is it really built in?

In any case, a few of the production companies do make extensions. Cuetec and Schuler are a couple that come to mind right away. Cuetec screws on to the butt, whereas the Schuler is at the joint. The Cuetec extension might not be compatible with some of their older models though.

Lucasi makes one with an extension built into the butt. I have one and like it. The extension unscrews, pulls out, then reverse screws to tighten in the new position.

I checked a few of the online Lucasi dealers and they dont list such a cue.

The Vintage cue is made by the same company that makes and markets Lucasi. This no major difference, except in cost, is it say's Lucasi.

The best one i've seen out there is the Jacoby J/B which also has the built in extension youre looking for. But that baby goes for $600. If you want to check it out, go the billiardwarehouse.com and check out the jacoby custom cues. Beautiful birdseye maple cue, two shafts, one for breaking and one for playing, but it's out of my price range for a j/b

I think the Chinese factory which is building Lucasi, and Predator, has a line of cue built the way you like. I am not sure if the tip is phenolic or leather. Will you still be interested if the tip is phenolic?

Regards,
Richard

if you're looking for custom. i saw someone post a picture of their edwin reyes cue that had te break cue break down and screw into the bottom of the playing cue
