Break or Jump/Break Cue

I am just looking for a lot of opinions on a few break and or jump break cues. I have had a few different ones, ie: mcdermott stinger, action, j&j and so on. but I've come to the conclusion I do not like Phenolic tips. I am looking for ideas on break cues that have leather tips or ones that feel well with leather tips. I was looking at the OB break and the Impakt and Icebreaker 2 made by Tiger. I wouldn't mind a tip bigger then 13mm or even less. I'm open to hearing about custom cues as long as they arent extremely expensive. Thank you all for opinions

Stringer Break Jump

I have read on a few threads that you can have the Phenolic tip thinned out by half and hard leather tip places on top of it.

I have heard of this being done on the Stringer Break cue by other. I am looking for someone in the my area to re-tip mine now.

I am not found of the Phenolic tips with the exception of jumping the cue ball.

I make a dymondwood jump/break that from what everyone tells me it does real good. Look on the forums and search for brickcues and see what everyone has to say.

Alex is to modest, these should be illegal on a barbox, simply dynomite.

I've never tried the diamond wood J/B but I do have a Bouska diamond wood jump cue and my only issue with it is it jump to easy...lol No jump stroke required

Kevin Varney

I have a Kevin Varney J/B and it's fantastic. Admittedly I have always wanted a Samsara and seeing Brick's I'm interested in his as well. I didn't have a J/B until last year and it has made a substantial difference in my game. As most know, a strong controlled break and jumping ability are key, and the Varney cue has made both easier, probably improving my game by 2 games in a race to ten. I was able to open the table up a bit more easily and get out of, or capitalize on safeties that enabled me to jump. I highly recommend purchasing a decent jump break cue. Good luck in your search-Ryan
