LOL. CAMOFLAUGE !!!!...Great idea, let us know how it works both breaking and jumping ? And how it sounds when you break with it ? Cause you know the sound the G-10 makes, but it might be muffled alittle <<<ED
You'll like the performance. I've been doing some this way for a few years. Did more than a few for IPT players when anything other than leather was illegal. Whats trick is that once crowned & chalked its looks like a normal leather tip. Another, possibly easier, way to do this is (if you have a bulletproof ferrule like Iv4) is just to simply bore/drill a 5/16 hole down through the top of the tip into the ferrule. Then slide in a 5/16 phenolic dowel and epoxy in place. To be ultra sneaky...you could use a hard black Kamui and then glue in a black canvas resin dowel. You couldn't tell this was illegal even if someone wiped the chalk off & inspected it. It would take removing the tip to tell it wasn't leather. And if asked about the hard phenolic sound...you could just blame it on the tip was soaked & triple pressed. The excellent new all leather Samsara tips sound like phenolic too so its not too much of a stretch.:wink:
