This was covered before I'm sure, but whats your favorite break tip? I use a hard talisman right now, but wanna change and try something better...Any suggestions? I'm told a SUMO tip works great, but I dunno. HELP!!!!!!!! lol

My only stipulation is it CAN'T be phenolic, its gotta be leather!

WB's very hard and all leather. Great for breaking and good control.

There not phenolic but there not leather either. I had one on my old BK i liked it a lot, hold chalk really well and you can get plenty of control on the break. At the minute I've got a Tiger J/B on my break cue (Mezz PB) and have been very surprised with hard it hits. To me its splits the rack better than my stinger with its phenolic tip.

i like d white diamond tip by piccone. but d only prob w/ it is dat it delaminates after a while from breaking hard to much. i hv replaced 5 already.

i also like d talisman pro extra hard tip. i think it is one of d best leather tip for breaking out there.

dat WB tip, are there 2 kinds? layered n non-layered?

Your best option for an ultra hard leather tip to break with is a Triangle soaked in Mineral spirits and then pressed to the limit.

I have a sledgehammer which has a phenolic tip and I've been wondering if I would have more control with a leather tip. Can someone recommend a good break cue for about $300?

Super Pro layered tip...

Been using the Super Pro layered water buffalo tips for over two years now. All the people I have put them on for their break cues love them. Smashes the rack with control, unlike the phenlic tips. You can even play with them if you like hard tips. They hold chalk really well.
