Hello AZers,
I would like to have you opinions about which tip is the most efficient for break cues. Thanks

i'm sure you'll get a barage of posts with opinions and probably even more with nothing more than telling you to do a search, while i hav eonly tried phonelic on whatever ferrule, 1 piece phonelic tip/ferulle combo, and white diamond on saber-t, my preferance for non-leather is the white diamond.
it seems to hold chalk better and offer alittle more control.

of coarse there are other tips out there such as the canvis-resin, and varney has his new one of which i havent tried so cannt comment on.

plus you have all the leathers out there like tigers and the buffulo and the milk duded, etc, that are going to hold chalk better for better control, but your going to sacrafice hardness.

all i can really suggest is try a bunch out and then decide what you like and works for you for your style of play.

Leather tip to break I would go with a Talisman Extra Hard Water Buffalo. I have that tip on a SP Players for almost 2 years... I've never shaped that tip.

To me, for some reason phenolic tips work fine most of the time - it depends on what break cue I'm using (depends on its weight, etc.). I break from the side if I can (rules allow) and I can stun the CB a little with it and that's all I need to position the CB. However, it's most of the time only a matter of time and I can break with hard leather tips or phenolic tips... whatever.

To sum things up: to me - these days - phenolic tips work best.
