Okay so having put in a lot of hours i just cant control the white ball

Quick simple pointer that has helped me control the cueball...

I assume that you can do a stop shot?, put 1 ball on the footspot the same way you would set up a rack, but just put one ball there. Line up as though you are breaking an entire rack. Do a stop shot, set it back up, do it harder, harder, etc.. keep hitting them until you can no longer stop the cue ball. That's your starting break speed. Now try a whole rack.

Good advice!

Get yourself a Jim Rempe Cue Ball, it has a texture on the surface, that chalk will stick on. The mark left will give you feedback about where your cuetip is striking the cue ball.

With the visual witness of the completed break shot, you have visual feedback from the results (impact & cue ball control). By looking at the Rempe Cue Ball, you have evidence of what is happening in your stroke.

Feedback is great...

ok cool

thought id ask with xmas coming up and all.

Looking for a break cue, never had one before but have used my brothers. I dont really need a jump cue and dont know if jump cue + break cues lower the break cue quality side of the cue.

I'm not going to spend hundreds as you can tell from this thread you know something that will keep me good for a while. I'm in the uk so it would be even better if you linked me to usa sites that shipped to europe. If not the model will just do fine.
