As I was watching a match from the World Cup of Pool that I had DVRed today I noticed Shane was breaking from the box rather than the side rail and I noticed quite a few players doing this at the DCC as well. I remember a time when people would think you were crazy not to break from the side rail in 9 ball and try to make the corner ball. I was just wondering why the reversal in trends a little bit. Does it have something to do with new break rules in some tournaments or something else? Just thought I'd ask if I was the only one who noticed this.
