Might even improve your game by a ball or two. :)

The only way you could "upgrade" to a Cuetec is if you were using a crooked twig you found by the creek.:D

Or a Meucci, oh wait, nevermind, you already said a crooked twig :D

I used to break with just a regular playing Cuetec- and it was always a piece of trash. I cracked the ferrule on one of my breaks (It was old by this time) and decided to just get a new breaker instead of sending it out to get fixed. If you are gonna get a break/jump cue, I recommend something like a Kaiser. I love my kaiser, and so does everyone who breaks with it!

Alright, you use your crooked twig, and I'll use my wet noodle and we'll play for his Cuetec.

Care to up the stakes? Throw in that copy of Natural Cures and youre on!

Travis,

Save your money on the cue-tec jb cue, and look into a Action JB or a Action SP.

The Action JB cost's about 80$ and if you have someone put a phenolic tip on the cue for 40$ you have a damn nice jb cue.

Or you can get the Action SP which i bought a Action 39 model and it cost me 45$ i believe. I put a one peice phenolic tip on it, and now have a good break cue.

also there is nothing wrong with using a one piece house cue to break with. Seriously, look into the different Jump/break cues that are made. Also!!!!! DONT GET ONE that has a wrap!!!!

Its personal preference with me, but you actually get a better grip with no wrap and you dont have to worry about the wrap getting dirty and oily and your hand sliding all over.

That's because you were shooting with a schon:D

A person would be lucky to win 3 games in 1259 hours with a "q-tip" (cuetec) or "mon-chi-chi" (meucci):p

When they say cuetec "break" cue, they mean it.

I hear those schons are really something. They say all you have to do is point and it makes the ball for you.

I used to break with a cuetec python. It really is a nice break cue, but I can't stand shooting with it because the shaft is fiberglass. I did get my best ever 9 ball break with it (6 balls down on the break), but I don't play much 9 so that's not saying much. I much prefer breaking with my Stinger.

always thought i was alone with getting less grip with a wrap. if my hands are sweaty they slip on a leather wrap, and lately with my job i'm washing my hands all the time, so they have started to dry out a lot. thsi presents an even worse situation than sweatiness i think. absolutely no grip at all.

I've had many cuetec's, and still have 'em as just as a very LAST RESORT. I do have their Vortex J/B cue. IMO, I don't think the price they are asking for is justified. They really don't work for me.

I stopped using the Cuetec's about 3/4 yrs ago. I am not saying they are horrible. They just don't work for me at this point in my pool playing.

Anyway, I now use McD's for playing. As far as breaking, I simply used an Old Lucasi (which hits very nicely) and had the tip modified. It now breaks great. I don't jump.... been hanging around 3C players to get around some difficult safties (but am working at it).

If u intend on getting a Cuetec J/B cue.... pls have someone modify it (more than likely change out the tip). Varney can help since he knows how to work with Cuetec's. Hell, if I remmeber he does Ally's work.

Hope that helps.

Save yourself headaches ...

and just get a J&J Break/jump cue from Chrisonline for $60. You won't get
a bigger bang for the buck. I have bought 2, and they are good.

i was wondering when someone was going to suggest J&J. im on my 3rd one and all have been great. all 3 bought from chrisonline. i use them for a while and someone offers me my money back on it and i get a new one. they are great for the money. you seriously wont go wrong here...

Everyone seems to enjoy ripping cuetech. I dont believe it is justified. I have a cuetech jump/break that I put a phrenolic tip on. I can jump no problem with it as good as I could with a bunjee jumper. So I sold the bunjee, and use the cuetech for jumping and breaking. I think the most important part is the tip and if you have a phrenolic on there you are golden. I also found it to be kinda slippery so I applied several coats of clear poly on there and now it feels almost like a leather wrap. Yes, I would rather have a SledgeHammer or something else, but I only gave $75 for this cuetech and can't afford a new one right now.

diferent strokes for diferent folks. i have used several cutec cues and didnt like any of them. i never used a break cue made by them tho. BUT for the money its hard to beat a J&J. they break and jump so well. i recently had the oportunity to use a X-breaker and so far, its the only thing i would rather have over my J&J. if you insist on cutec than that is fine...just suggesting a great cue for a great price,
thanks,
Jay
