Please check out my post in the MAIN FORUM on this same date concerning the Brianna Products ring cutter which was advertised here. Worst of all, his business practices are beyond reason. What a rippoff!!

??????????

I don't know about ring cutters. I've bought, sold, traded, with Lee an everything has been positive in every way.

Brianna: BAD!!

I'm glad to hear you guys can do business, but he's plain ripped me off. I would never do business with him again! He won't answer my emails and has sold me a junk product. What a way to do business.

Brianna...

It's very possible he is not answering emails because he's at the Super Billiards Expo at Valley Forge.

I bought items from him 2 times...

I can say ... do not business with him....

he can not trust....

Brianna

I've always been pleased with Brianna. Rather than just calling something junk, why not critique what was wrong or what could be better about the product????

If you had read the first posting he states to check the main forum where there is discussion going on explaining everything in detail what is wrong with the device.

Look, I'm not saying the guy's born bad. But what he sent me....well, the workmanship's terrible, and it doesn't work. Everything takes forever on his end. When I asked for a refund, his only response was "return it, I'll send you another".The unit I returned came back to me as "unclaimed". The replacement unit looked slightly better but performed even worse. And they are not responding. I ask you....what's to like? Imean, I just want to make pool cues!

Still No Response From Brianna

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I've still received no response from Lee Malakoff at Brianna concerning my refund for the non functional ring cutter he sold me, and I am not feeling too good about it. I don't post much here; I mainly listen to those who know much more about cues than me, and I don't want to be perceived as a fount of negativity. But I feel that Brianna, an advertiser here on AZ, has ripped me off by sending me an undeveloped, non functional tool in exchange for $200 of my hard earned money. There's no excuse for this sort of conduct. Perhaps I'm new or perhaps just lucky but I have never received a screwing like this from another soul in this industry. I guess I will have to take more drastic measures to recover the $200 which he has cheated me for. It will not make me feel good, it will not make Lee Malakoff feel good, and it gives the sport and the industry a black eye.
So AZers, be warned: If my experience is any example, Lee Malakoff of Brianna is not to be trusted for doing business in a fair, businesslike way.
I originally posted on the Main Forum, but I feel the discussion is perhaps more appropriately aimed at cuemakers and repair people, so I'm going to switch further discussion to the Cue Machinery forum.

Nope never read it as I picked up the thread under cue machinery
Please use the search function for "Tool for cutting rings" to see what they offered for sale and please search for "Brianna Products ring cutter: Junk" for a full description of the bad experience I am having with them.
To all: I apologize for splitting this discussion between this forum and the main forum. I'm new at this and realise now that this is the more appropriate place. So sorry.

letter we sent after recieving nasty emails

Dear Mr. Snyder,
I spoke with Mr. Malakoff this evening on the subject of refunding you the money for the ring cutter He is not at this time nor any time in the future willing to do this. The threats you made in the last e-mail do not alter his decision in any way. Mr. Malakoff has been doing business since 1988 and has great reputation in the billiards industry. Your threats serve no purpose to him. The ring cutter that he sent you the first time was fine, in perfect working order. This is the one that he was using at the time that you ordered. You stated that it took forever for you to receive it, yet you were told that it was in production and there would be a wait for it. After your dislike for the first one you were given a new one that had a selection of power levels, as you desired. Now you are making statements on the internet and making claims about the product that you paid for, and received. It is a very useful tool when used correctly. This is what Mr. Malakoff uses himself in his shop daily. I know this, as I have seen him use it with wonderful results every time. He has sold more than twelve people the exact same cutter units with compliments on them. Concerning the shafts, you were refunded the difference between what was sent and what you ordered long ago. As far as the sale of ring cutter is concerned, you received what you ordered in perfect working condition, as it was brand new ... twice. I am sorry you feel troubled in some way, perhaps it’s inexperience with that tool and how to master it, but Mr. Malakoff has completed his dealings with you.
Have a good day,
Tammy

Have a good day,
Tammy[/QUOTE

I'm not sure what special skills I'm supposed to have to operate the ring cutter. You fire it up and turn the crossfeed, that's about it.

Below is the full text of my "threatening" email which Tammy mentions:

"Mr. Malakoff- Why don't you just send me a refund before this matter escalates and save yourself further trouble. All I want is fair treatment. You know full well about the problems with your product.
I absolutely cannot fathom why you conduct yourself this way. Do the right thing. Just tell me where to send this stuff and send me a refund and you'll not hear another word from me.
Did you ever hear that a satisfied customer will tell 10 people but a dissatisfied one will tell thousands?
I would like nothing better than to be able to tell people that you were a stand up guy in the end and that you stepped forward and took care of this problem."

Now that the good folks at Brianna have had thier say, that's about it. I don't want to post again until I have something positive to say. I'm really not liking any of this, but I don't like to be cheated.

I'm going to borrow or buy a camera and post photos of the equipment in question. I'll let the forum members decide whether what I received was as-advertised. Meanwhile, I'll persue other remedies.

This part alone makes me decide to never deal with these people. Just because they have been in business 30 years doesnt mean thay dont screw somebody every once in a while. That statement seems pretty conceded to me. But what do I know I have only been alive 30 years or so.

I wouldn't deal with them either. I went in with a buddy of mine to buy some things from them off of ebay. They completely misrepresented the item and screwed us and didn't want to refund us. Oh it's cute that they call his letter threatening. My buddy told me that when he was on the phone with Mr. Malakoff, that Lee threatened to put a bullet in his head...... If that's not threatening than I don't know what is. And he obviously doesn't realize who he was talking to......:p Well anyway, I would stay away from them. Their business practice is shitty and they never refund anyone. 30 yrs. of giving people the short end of the stick. :o

Kinda sad that they don't want to refund ring cutters.....
