Broke my poison VX Break shaft

I regularly break at around 30. I believe this break was in the mid 30's range, keep in mind I don't bend the shaft on the table. Was a great breaker, hopefully poison replaces it.

I'd be willing to bet you're technique is the cause of the break. I would say, because of the mini radial joint and the amount of stress you put on it, it was bound to break sooner or later.

I'd like to see some speed results of your break. Very very few people can break 30mph. Along the pro's there are only a few that can hit that.

I try to emulate SVB's break a little, and yes on my old phone I had the speed app and I was breaking between in the range 29/30/31. This particular night I had a couple beers and was feeling "loose" that's why my guess I was in the mid 30's. As I made contact with the cueball, it felt as though I was driving the butt through the shaft, it was crazy. I'm sure it broke because of a combination of the mini radial, natural flex in the shaft from striking the cueball, and less than perfect mechanics. Just wanted to share because it was crazy.

BTW my control 9 ball break is about 20-22 and control 8 ball break is about 24-25.
This particular night I was just trying to kill the ball.

glad I signed up w/ ppl like you jmizzo

Im sorry if its true. Its not like we don't people signing up all the time claiming things that are near impossible. 35mph is super high for pros even. It is unlikely that a non pro can get that high consistently.

Example: Mike Dechaine is considered to be one of the strongest breakers, here is a video of 33.5 which is good for him. There are a couple videos online, and the ball flies off the table at that speed pretty much.

So if you really do break like that, time to get in on some big break contests.

Also Shane has the most effective break, but he doesn't break at a extremely hard speed, I would guess he breaks at around 22mph.

I dunno, I think it might be more common than you think.
I was at a local event and someone set up a breakrak with the radar.
Some guy I never heard of was hitting 30's and I don't think he was even in the tournament.
Maybe he's sort of a 1-trick pony.

Of course, MID-thirties is in another league from "barely reaches thirty, sometimes".
35 is an atomic bomb.

KWise - don't sweat it, there's always gonna be flak on AZ but mostly it's a decent place.
Do you have any advice for someone looking to boost their break speed?

thanks creedo, I play a lot of softball and hip drive is what gives home runs, so I give a lot of hip drive like a larry nevel to the break. For me elbow drop and forearm 'snap' help too. my buddy has the app on his phone, I might see him tonight, ill see what I get if I do. now I feel like Ive got something to prove. but then again its just the app it may not be 100% accurate so we will see.

If you call the folks at Poison directly they'll replace it for you. I had an issue with my VX shaft a couple years back and they quickly sent me a new one. Hopefully service is still the same

It's time I weigh in here seeing as I know Keith and have watched his breaks and witnessed this spectacle. It's actually quite an accurate guess. Without using the app yeah nothing is for sure. He hits his racks in such a way that it just blows my mind. No one I know personally even comes close to his breaks. I've seen him use the app and he isn't lying whatsoever. I didn't believe his "bullsh*t" either when he first brought it up. Having witnessed it, it amazes me. His break has a lot of The Hillybilly technique as well. I have a slow motion video of his breaks. If I can upload it I gladly will.

When that shaft shattered it sounded like a gun went off.

Well then I eat crow, and have no trouble admitting it. I just get REAL skeptical when someone who just signs up makes claims that are pretty un-ordinary. Congrats, wish I could hit mid 30's.

Oh believe me if it means breaking shafts I don't want to hit that hard. Hehehe!!

Most people with a King Kong break, can't run out and are fairly easy to beat. They're in it for the ego of the monster break and people saying "wow." Nevertheless, an easy mark.
Breaking is about controlling the 1 ball and the cue ball and then maintaining control of the table.

He just CAN break that well bro. He doesn't do it when the games count. Hehehe loving the flak...
