Brunswick Centennial 10-foot Snooker Slates

OKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKkk.....there's ONE freak 10ft SNOOKER table out there with a set of 5 slates, but only ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D BUT, in my defense....it wasn't made in AMERICA!:D

Got another one for my Fans

So anyone remember this? hah, and this is the best? I am no where near you level Glen, but I seem to have a lot of various information for being a total Hacker.... Hacker school sure is teaching a lot these days, maybe I should spend 27 years working on 3 table types too.

So how many fingers am I holding up?

Have you ever seen a 2pc slate or greater than 5? I saw a crappy table once with a 2pc slate that couldn't have been a half inch thick, I walked away from that. It was a cheapo from the 70's.

Rob...you're about to go bye bye, aparently...you missed reading what Mr. Wilson wrote to you;) Rob, I don't claim to be a librarian on the history of pool tables, or claim to know about EVERY new table build today...BUT, I can work on any table built today...or yesterday to perfection...so what exactly is your point Rob? Are you once again....trying to drag me down to YOUR level?

Bumpy bumpity bump

Wow, it's been a while fellow Az'ers. Hope you all have been well. As usual, working and maintaining my deadlines has kept me busy. Ya know, not all hacker mechanics can get away with being a year late. Just saying..

Table-Tek out!

Getting Biblical

Good answer, there's not a chance the table has 5 pieces of slate, no manufacture has ever made a modern era 10ft table with more than 3 piece slate:grin:

Romans 1:22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.

Still laughin my ass off on this oldie but goodie! Thanks again buddy!

Better to be a year late getting to the job...than chased down for a year...for the work you DID do...to fix the screw ups you made the first time you did the work. Just saying..

Really? A year to deliver a table.. And you bash me?

So your saying that you have been a year late for more than the two NY jobs? Wow, Glen.. I hope you let them know that the table they bought and paid for might take a year or greater to get there.. Really? A year? What are you doing, pushing it only a handcart?

So let me get this right.. Just to be clear. Wouldn't want to slander your name publicly and be wrong.. If you picked up a table in Chicago, then pushed it on a dock cart at say 2mph. Figure 650 miles to northern NY, you could actually be there in under a month assuming a twelve hr walking day. Now, what are you doing the other 11 months? Maybe if you had a horse and carriage you could get it to them faster?

I'm just saying.. Who here thinks a year+ for a table delivery is bizarre?

So, let's look at this in another way.. Assuming your average customer is 50 years old, and realistically they will play into late 60's.. If they buy a table and have you move it; they might either quit the game, move to a different house, have another child, get divorced or even forget about having bought the table in the first place by the time you deliver?

And what about that serious player who wants to practice at home 2 hrs a day instead of paying $7/hr to shoot at the pool hall.. $14 a day, figure five days a week, 52 weeks plus.. That's $3620 in table time because you couldn't keep a deadline (math in head, could be off a fin pecten).

Wow, I wanna hire you buddy

I just saw this thread and a 5 piece slate for a 10+ foot table seems a lot more manageable. I just picked up a 10 foot table and damn that slate was bulky and heavy, hehe.

Maybe having 5 pieces of slate might make 10 foot tables less intimidating for dealers.

Rob...WHO'S been waiting on their table delivery...for over a year??? Yes...I have customers that have been waiting on me to WORK on their pool tables for over a year...in fact...last count...I have about 800 customers waiting on me. I'm only ONE person...working in 49 states...I can only do so much at a time...and only travel so much to get to the jobs...so...yep, they have to wait their turn. Maybe if YOU were a better mechanic...I'd refer some of the jobs to you as some of them are in YOUR backyard....but...after seeing some of the work you've done in the past...not a chance in hell would I send someone to you to get their pool table or rails worked on....so, they'll just have to wait....or take their chances with the likes of someone like you....just saying:cool:

If you want to try and login to knock me Rob....at LEAST try and get your FACTS straight. You sure haven't changed any...have you!

Table tek...if glen don't work for you...and the tables not for you...what concern do you have with his time schedule? I'm not on Glen's side....but don't you think the way he does business...is HIS business?
Why hammer a guy with shit that don't have anything to do with you?
I'm not getting on you...take care of your own work...that's all that should concern you.
Build one another up...not try to destroy someone's reputation.
Everyone of us so called table mechanic's have flaws...why do you think we work on tables....because we over qualify for NASA?
I couldn't count all the mistakes I've made on tables....but you learn and move on.
Everyone gets on Glen....and yes he's never on time....nor is he ever going to be....but Glen's work is in high demand, and when he lands somewhere and starts to make a living 10 guys know he's in town and want him to work on their table.....how would anyone turn the work down? Now is Glen right to not have taken care of the guy that has already paid? (NO) but that's on Glen...not us.

It's OK Mark...Rob had no idea the importence of the Diamond billiars going to TX...because all he has to offer as a table mechanic....is excuses as to why his work turns out the way it does....like the beltsander screwup on a set of rails for Bob De Turk...no big deal...just saying... I'd NEVER screw over a fellow mechanic like that...then come on here talking shit to someo.else. No one knows my schedule better than you do Mark...or how I work.;)

Hi Mark,
I really don't care how many or how Glenn handles his business. I do care that he pits mechanic against mechanic and takes credit for innovations we all make, while telling us each how bad an idea it is. From all I hear about your work I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you realize this already. There are at least half a dozen ideas that I have talked to others about that mysteriously showed up on Az as an RKC breakthrough. A few of these were mine, some were Bob and me, some were others. He is a toxic person to share info with. I don't really care if his cronies (who seem to be dwindling finally!) change, but I know a lot about the Internet so when someone references RKC I want them to see what he is really like. I will *never* consider taking work from him again, so I have nothing to lose here.

BTW, how do you like Bob/my granite block method?

I look forward to sharing some cool shit with you and a few others shortly (workload permitting)... I pickup my CNC this Saturday!

Had an idea while speaking with Bob that you may have already heard of..

You would never do what? You must be off the wagon again, do you actually think anyone you deal with professionally doesn't know you are full of it? Your legacy in this business is being habitually late, unable to maintain a two way conversation and being combatitive with anyone who doesn't do things "your way". To quote another.. When you are long gone, I'll still be telling people what an ass you were.

I guess you're still suffering from that "small man syndrome" Rob which seems to always have an effect on you every time you come back on AZ:smile:

Rob, the block works great...look Glen has shown us all a lot of things on tables....I call John Burns if I have trouble on antique tables....he's giving me some great ideas on tables...same as Bobby..Jay...Pat..just as I've done the same with them....but do you see any of them on here saying....that's my idea....he's taking credit for what I thought him.

Glen helped start this mechanic's section....he's helped a lot of AZ'ers from getting ripped off by asking questions to the guy they were about to hire....Personally I thank Glen for all the mechanic's I have gotten to work or talk with....people I would've never met if not for him on this forum.

I've given Brunswick a lot of idea's on the GCV.....greatest GC table ever (IMIO) my name's not in lights....and who cares?

Bottom line...who really cares who's idea it was...I'm just glade someone thought of it....Glen's the perfect one to share the Idea with......cause you know he's going to put it on here..LOL

We need to all get along together.....we can all learn for one another.....but the ego of everyone is coming out way to much....I thought the players were bad....the mechanic's are getting worse.

I promise ya this....if you have a horn to blow...someone will blow it for you...I'm not the best, no one is....No Glen....your not either....we're all still learning ways of fixing tables that didn't exist years ago....the things we're doing to rails today....the way we recover...everything has changed for the better.....and who's the ones making the changes......all of us......IF WE COULD ALL GET ALONG, AND NOT CARE WHO CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA....OR WHO EVER DON'T DO THE JOB LIKE THIS....YOUR WRONG....MYSELF, I'VE LEARNED MORE FROM GLEN,JAY,BOBBY AND JOHN....THINGS I THOUGHT I KNEW....BUT LIKED THEIR WAY BETTER.

WE NEED LEADERS IN THIS BUSINESS....GLEN WANTS TO LEAD....ANYONE ELSE WANT TO STEP UP AND LEAD....I SURE DON'T....BUT IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY GLEN TAKES THE LEAD....TAKE IT FROM HIM IF YOUR THE BEST MECHANIC....NOT AND EASY TASK FOR ANYONE....GLEN GIVES THE BEST SHOT.

WE REALLY NEED TO COME TOGETHER......STOP ALL THE BULLSHIT.....HELP ONE ANOTHER.
TRUTH BE TOLD...I'M PART OF THE REASON GLEN'S IN TEXAS......HE DID ME A FAVOR...HE BROUGHT THE BILLIARD TABLES TO ME, FOR MY FRIENDS POOLROOM....WHEN HE TOLD ME HE HAD TO BE IN N.Y TO DELIVER THE GC....I STOPED THAT FROM HAPPENING TO GET MY TABLES TO ME IN TEXAS....FOR THAT I'M SORRY TO THE GUY IN N.Y.....SO I'M PART OF THE BLAME....NOT ALL HIM.

LET'S ALL TRY SOMETHING NEW.....COME TOGETHER AS ONE.

MARK GREGORY
