Need some help/advice;I was told recently that there were a few production runs of the Brunswick cent ball sets in the 70s(?) or 80s(?) that were slightly heavier than the standard sets. These are apparantly highly sought after by collectors/players.Any advice on where to locate one of these sets? Thanks,M.Sellers

Mike, How much more than 6.0oz each would they weigh, I wonder? This is the first I've heard of this. My biggest peeve of ball sets is having a very worn down and, or light cue ball.

Hey Guy, I have a set that was given to me as a gift when I opened my pool hall.

The set was brand new, and it was purchased in 1972 as part of 100 sets purchased by another room owner. Why he bought so many, I have no idea, however he will not part with any more at any price, I have tried.

I just weighed the balls and they are 5.9 oz including the cue ball.

They have yellowed from age but they are perfect and I use them every day.

I hope this helps.

PS. I have seen some sets from the same time period on Fleebay, good luck!!!!!

Martin,I am not sure how much the weight difference is.I was unaware of the rare sets until a gentleman told me about them at tournament in Mobile.I realize that isnt much to go on.Mike
