brunswick gold crown Metal strap for fiberglass trim skirts

I purchased fiberglass trim skirts for my gold crown 1 table but I need to fabricate the metal straps that connect the skirt to the table. Have you folks done this and if so what have you used.

I must confess I did find them at classic billiards but at $10.98 each I thought I might come up with a cheaper solution.

Make some. It is just a piece of metal. If you have a small grinder, drill, pair of pliers, and a vise you could make them pretty easy.

For what it is worth, I never had any for the tables I have done with the plastic skirts, and they seem fine with out them. The other trick I like to do is use the metal binder clips in the corners to keep them together instead of trying to get a bolt in there.

FWIW, the originals are 6" long, 3/4" wide, and have a bend in the middle creating a rise of 1/2".
