I currently have an entry level Brunswick 4x8 table. I'm considering getting a 4.5x9. This table is available in my area- http://cleveland.craigslist.org/tag/1592814819.html

My questions are: Is this table a good investment? If I eventually had the table totally re-done-What kind of costs are involved?

Also- The recommended area size is 14x17 for a full size table. I have 13.5x25. I know I would have to use a shorter stick in certain situations- Is this not a big deal or am I better off staying with a 4x8 table.

You're tight on size (side to side) but a 52" cue will work when needed.
For a pro quality table it's a good price with the light and other accessories provided all in good shape.
I doubt I'd consider it an "investment" since there are plenty of GC's for sale but if you feel the need to
upgrade to a 9' this table seems a good candidate.

Costs on getting it "redone" depends on what needs doing.
Top cloth and cushions alone will run the better part of $500 on top
of labor charges for modifying or refinishing the table.

Rick- Thanks for your response. Is a Gold Crown considered a quality table? What other used tables would you recommend? I want to do this once....without making a big mistake. I would like to eventually buy a used 4.5 x 9 that is worthy of the investment. Not to flip it-but not to regret the purchase because I should of bought a different table. Sorry for the rambling explanation.

The GC tables are very good tables, if you can get a good mechanic to do the set-up. Rick is right with the price of cloth and cushions. Pay the money for a top mechanic the first time, and you will be very happy with the table.

GC's are top of the line pro tables and as Mark mentioned you won't go wrong getting it done up professionally.
