Brunswick Metalist Pockets

I play on a Brunswick Metalist 9' table and my cue gets a long string of rubber on it when I have been shooting over the pockets. The top of the drop pockets are only about 1/4" above the rails and I dont know how I do it but after about 15 minutes I have this long thin string of rubber near the middle of my cue. The top of the pockets have many grooves in them so I am not the only one having this problem. I was wondering if all tables of this type have the rubber transfering to the cues. Is there a cure? Leather tops for the drop pockets? Silicone on the rubber? I wax my cue and the rubber does just roll up and come off but it also leaves a small amount of sticky on the cue. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I'd be interested in this too. I know I've gotten those marks playing on older Gold Crowns. The first time it happened I couldn't figure out where the heck the mark on my cue came from, LOL. It rubs off fairly easily but it is still a pain.

I have a GC4 and it definitely does not happen with my pockets. I don't know if there was a change in the pockets used on the GC's somewhere along the line.
