Brunswick Montebello

I have an opportunity to get a 7 year old Montebello 9'. I think they are an attractive table, but I want a table that plays well, more than I want a "pretty" table.

Any opinions on how they play, how sturdy they are, or any other useful information? Opinions on what a fair price should be?

Thanks, Jon

Table plays just fine...I've done rail extensions on 3 of them and they played very well. If your looking for looks and a good playing table...I would say get it. I believe you will be happy with the table.

Those are nice tables. I really like the look. Sorry I don't have much info on playablity. I only rolled balls to make sure they were level...and they were of course!

Thanks Perfect Pocketz. I took your advice to at least go and play on it to see how it played. It did play very well and was in truly excellent condition. The guy was the original owner, and hardly ever played it. It had never been refelted, so there were only the original staple marks when taking the felt off.

Any advice on a good mechanic in the South Houston area? I think the table would look excellent with tournament blue on it, but my wife is partial to traditional green. Have you ever done one in blue?

Thanks again.

Jon

Blue will play faster than green. The blue is sheered differently and is a little thinner.

Thanks for the help. Here is a pic my table with new cloth. I think it looks pretty sharp.

Beautiful table.
Wow, $10K brand new.
I saw that table on one of the pro-ladies tour I think.

I like the table....the look....and the way they play.
Sounds like your happy with the table....I'm sure you'll enjoy playing on it for years.
The blue cloth really brings the table to life....good luck playing.
