before Titlists? Supposed to have long points, brass on both shaft and butt, and a place in the butt where you can scratch your name in? And came originally with a leather wrap.

Looking for info, pics if there is one around ... and wondering how rare they are? I never heard of them before today.

my BBC's are at the orifice :) damn it

Hello Doc, what orifice are your BBC's at!!!!!:D (my BBC's are at the orifice)

Sorry but I could not help myself Doc, that is some funny shit.

Doc those cues were made in the late 1960's, and they were made in one of two places. They were made by Schmelke (During 1969 only) or they were made in Taiwan. Most but not all however, that were made in China had serial numbers on the joint collars of the butt and the shaft. Sorry to say but they have very little Value, and this includes the one made by Schmelke.

Post some photo's and I can help identify if it is a Schmelke model or an import. The Schmelke Models were better quality and some had forearms like the Titlist that Schmelke made. Later Schmelke versions had out sourced parts that were imported.

Considering the way I usually feel when leaving the office I have always felt that misspelling to be appropriate :D and called for :p

As to the rest, thanks for the info and I probably wont have it to take pics of. Someone mentioned it to me today, and is going to show me later in the week. He was considering dooing a conversion with it. Thought I would be interested but sounds like I oughta pass. Thanks Craig. Hope you're 4th was good .

ya know

I like a lot of the schmelke blanks I have seen now that I think about it. I have one JWPetree made a sneakie out of for me and it plays SUPER. Maybe I will have it :D for photos!!~

Thanks

That doesn't LOOK bad. Play ok? Much of a pain doing the conversion? I see you retained the wrap and joint. What would think about taking one and converting it to a wood handle? Sorta think you are going to suggest "get another blank" especially as the cues themselves are not worth much as collectors items .....

Thanks for you patience Craig, you are the only one has offered anything here.

This cue could not be converted, it is around .814 at the cues joint. I suspect you could convert one if they were large enough. The cue pictured is completely original from the factory.

Take care Doc.

I have a friend who has one of these Brunswick Personal Cues.

He would like to sell it. What would be a fair price for him to ask for it ?

Thanks, Tommyd1

Ouch

Dave are you serious $ 50.00 ??

Anybody else have an idea ?

Hate to say, but I think my friend paid $ 200.00 for it in New York a couple of years ago.

Dave, I respect your knowledge just hoping that it was worth a little bit more.

Thanks Tom

I have one of these too

Thanks for the info on this....I know it's an old thread, but I wanted to thank people for it anyways. I have been looking for info on it for a few months, off and on, and this is one of 2 places with any info at all.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but There is some misinformation being passed on. Schmelke built an entire line of cues for B'wick in 1969 and 1970. Records of the deal were destroyed and any details went to the grave with Duard Schmelke.

The 1969 cues were all domestically produced by Schmelke. The 1970 cues - same designs, were also built by Schmelke, however, the shaft was only jointed and rough contoured. Shafts were then bundled and sent to Japan for the final contour, ferrule and tip installation. I believe this was done by Adam as a prelude to their full production capability. The two years are differentiated by the serial number stamped above and below the joint collars on the 1970 line. These were stamped prior to the cue shafts being sent to Japan and were used to match up butts to shafts once the finished shafts came back. If you find an example with labels intact, there is a small round one that says, "Kiln dried maple processed in Japan".

After 1970, production was completely outsourced to Japan and Adam and later in the mid-70's to Tiawan.

Here are some 1969 & 1970 Brunswicks...
