How many of you are aware the slate bolt holes don't line up on the side rails for the Centennial's, Anniversaries, Sport Kings, and GC's, which makes it hard to center the rails on the side pockets?

How many of you know how to map out the rail bolt holes? Let's make it a 9ft, what are the rail bolt hole spec's?

I guess I never noticed but I had the rails on my GCI on and off twice and the rails seem to line up well with the side pockets.

Next time you have the rails off, check and see if the rail bolt hole are 18" inches on center, and are 1 1/4" on center from the edge of the slate.

The scribed line is the center line for where the bolt hole is suppose to line up on center.

GC IV Pro 8

Slate holes down one side measure O 16 1/2" O 16 3/8" O 16 1/2" O 16 3/8" O 16 1/2" O The slate holes are consistent centered 1 1/4" in from the edge.

Rail threaded insert holes measure O 16 3/8" O

Slate holes are 3/4" in diameter

Rail holes are 1/2" in diameter, a bit sloppy some are + 1/16"

The MDF holes are centered a bit sloppy over the slate holes but are a massive 2 inches in diameter vs the 1 3/8 inch diameter washers so plenty of wiggle room.

There's enough slop in all the above that aligning the rails should not be difficult.

In related news my GC needs RCK love.

And your end rail bolt holes are wider center to center than the side rail bolt hole are😅

Here's another thing to confuse you, only used 6 slate screws to mount this 9ft slate, and none were used at the seams.
