Brunswick Sport King - Monarch Cushions - help

Was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I sent Glen a PM, but if anyone else has an idea it would be much appreciated. Thanks so much.

I am refurbishing a Brunswick Sport King 9ft model from the 1950's/60s and I was wondering if you could help me out.

A lady at Brunswick told me that "the monarch ushion rubber is comparable to the K55 profile rubber
available today."

But the local authorized Brunswick dealer told me that I could use either K55 or K66 rails and I would be fine.

I went ahead and purchased Artemis Rubber k66 profile cushions.

I'm wondering if I have to follow your instructions on how to convert a k55 rail to a k66 one that you posted a few months ago or can I just go ahead and glue the new rails on?

Thanks,
Jeff

Don't you think it would be much simpler to use the correct cushion profile for the table and save the extra work? You can get Artemis in K55.
IMO - your local authorized brunswick dealer is an idiot to state you can use either profile. Using an incorrect profile will affect the play of the table.

I have to agree with Dartman, the fix I mentioned can be done...but only by and expert...and as a last resort.

I'm restoring a 1912 Brunswick and just put on K55 cushions. Rail height is perfect and the table measures 50 x 100 inside the cushions like it should. I agree with Dartman "your local authorized brunswick dealer is an idiot to state you can use either profile."
