Brunswick table identification

I'd be grateful if anyone had experience with this table and knew which variety of Brunswick it is? I've looked at a lot of resources and don't see legs like these on Brunswick tables.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Rexus31! Mystery solved for me... now I see why I've had so much trouble identifying this thing. Brunswick doesn't even list the Viscount anywhere on their website that I can find.

Sweet table!

Do you have the ball box? or are you missing everything I do not see? I have an 8 footer in my inventory right now, super cool design and they use the same slates as a gold crown!

Odd table.
Makes me want to find out who designed it.

Viscount:
A British nobleman above a baron and below an earl.

As many tables were named after people and or events or periods, I wonder what made them choose that name.

The table in the first post has drop pockets which needs no ball box'

What I thought was odd is that I had a guy contact me about aprons and a set up on the same model. He sent me a picture and I thought it was comical when I seen this post'
I have not been out to install the table due to a shoulder injury but when I get back on my feet again I will post pictures of the table and install if I remember too take snap shots'

Here the pic' sorry if the pic is oversized, I'm not I.T guy'

Plastic ballbox

not the ball return box, the ballbox on the end that actually stores the balls when not in use. if that is missing or broken: DAMMIT . a guy from Wisconsin contacted me with no side skirts as well!

The top of the table, the rails and stuff, look just like a Gold Crown. If it is in fact a Gold Crown on a different frame it should be a pretty nice table.

actually:

These tables are very rare and worth $$$ if complete and in good/ restorable condition. I have a mint 8 foot right now, it was such a SCORE! The frame is actually hollow to reduce weight, those laminated legs cant hold the weight of the Gold Crown top. They actually took off the edge trim pieces on the rails and made the formica wrap the edge instead. Derrick Tier's is a fan of these and I have sold him 2 9 footers this year! I decided to keep the 8 footer because I know it is the rarest of the Viscount Models! :)

They play every bit as good as a GC. Just recovering mine in 860HR....expect it to play awesome!

Table

I went and looked at the disassembled table, I'd have to say someone at Brunswick had their thinking cap on when they designed it long ago.
They used plywood on edge doweled at sections to build a hollow box frame supports for strength but save on weight, the legs/pedestals are very solid, the rails are little brothers of the GC but I did not remove rail cloth to expose the or feel around the cushion for a ID on profile-I did see the nut plates need updated, I did not see the ball runs for the return so I'll see and report that later.
The rail trim is plastic rather than the metal like a GC, half of the aprons crumbled to nothing and are not useable.
For the most part I believe the table should play good, a little TLC and I think the table will bring many more years of up to par play.

I think I can help.

I now see why you don't have the aprons!!! I have experienced both models, the plastic corners & aprons an the wood. I happen to have an 8 foot with the wood versions and would be willing to ship one of the corners to be replicated Rob. The aprons can easily be made based upon the corners. you really don't have to have the ball box and could just make another apron that would replace the ball box. I thnk it would be a neat custom project! let me know if I can help.

I think the Hippodrome in Buffalo, NY has a few of these around.

Send me pictures of what you have, the brief look I had at the parts and pieces of the table.. There was some rail length1x4 looking pieces with holes that looked like the back side of a T-rail...I assumed it was a attachment block of some sort for the aprons or ball return.

Thanks.
