Is this Oak?

Not Oak, not Maple either.
I have a Titlist which I beleive to be of the same wood.

It seems to be a sort of 'Mahogany type' wood, only
lighter in weight and color.

Could be Walnut, as the Varnish is old, and not allowing the wood to be shown well.
