Hi Folks,
I'm pretty excited to offer these two cues in what will probably be a limited series of seven. They are very unique in the fact that Bryan Mordt and Dave Barenbrugge put their heads together to make what I feel might be the best player's cue I've ever hit balls with.
Bryan, Dave, and I all live in Arizona and have known each other for some time. In talking with the guys, we discussed an idea that has made for an interesting project. Bryan has his standard cues and Dave has his, but we thought it might be an interesting idea to have Bryan make a few cues that would incorporate features that Dave uses on his, as well as Bryan's ideas, and finally, some shared features that would make a simple cue a monster player at an affordable price level.
These cues are made and finished by Bryan, but are different than his usual cues. Anyone that has ever seen Bryan's work knows that his fit and finish is top notch. He has a great reputation and a world wide following. I have owned many of his cues over the years and hold him in high regard.
Dave has made cues for years, which have primarily been for the Oriental market, so we haven't had much opportunity to see his work here in the States. He is known for his high end work and beautiful butterfly cues.
Dave was very instrumental in designing these cues, but feels that since he has some other irons in the fire right now which require his attention, Bryan should be the actual cuemaker.
Bryan has finished the first four and they came out great. I decided to keep the first one after I hit a few balls with it and another local that was in the poolroom immediately bought the other one I had with me.
These two remaining cues from the first batch are ready to go. Brand new (one was test hit with light brown chalk) cues with no waiting time. How strong is that???
The cues have a stiff hit and the taper gives them a unique feel. The wood is black Gabon ebony or highly figured cocobolo into dense, old, BEM. The finish is amazing and the workmanship is flawless. These might be the best bar cues a guy would ever want to drag into a bar!
