Cheap chalk/misc holder

I ran across something at the Hobby Lobby today (don't ask) that some of you might find useful. It's a great little plastic case that can fit 4-6 pieces of chalk, a few spare tips...perfectly, all for the grand sum of $1.27 + tax  Apparently, if you go to the scrapbooking section (again, don't ask, the whole place looks like scrapbooking to me) they'll be there on the wall. Best of all, they fit perfectly into the long pocket on both my J&J and Instroke 2x4 cases.

As holiday gifts for my team mates in Team 9-ball, I gave them tubes of chalk. Then again, I use a laser level to lay donuts stickers on the table when I practice stop shot drills.

man... that's a good idea. sometimes getting the balls lined up dead straight to the heart of the pocket takes more time than it should. ;)

So do I! What level do you use? I've found the Strait-Line 64001 Laser Level with the add on swivel base works great for this because of the way it can pivot.

Black and Decker Bullet Laser Level. You can find them on ebay for less than $10 after shipping. It comes with a nice little black zip pouch with room to hold some donut stickers, and still small enough to fit in the accessory pouch on my cue case.

We give gifts of chalks and other pool accessories to our teammates, use lasers, and write utilities for pool. Damn we are geeky!

My wife keeps a little pink keychain magic 8-ball on the handle of the cue case :)

Too add to my geekiness, when I was looking for my new pool table I made a scale layout of the room in OmniGraffle (like Visio but for the Mac). I also once made a cue "lathe" out of legos and powered by a cordless drill to use for cleaning/sanding my shafts (there is video of it on youtube somewhere). Also have made several of the "bucket polisher" ball cleaners, one for home, and made one for a pool hall in exchange for material costs + a "bucket of beer" :)

That's a really cool idea for a chalk holder. Where'd you get the tube?

From Royce Burnell, his handles is RBC on AZ. If you buy 1, its something like $2 plus a flat shipping rate. So, to make it worth while buy a bunch, and split with your friends.

If you have bought your wife a ring in the last ummm...........three or four years, she probably still has the little flip-top ring box that the ring came in. Tear the innards out of one and it perfectly holds two pieces of chalk (one blue, one green) anf fits nicely into the small pocket of one's case. And.....save the cost of the ring ($$$$$), it's free!!!

Magic 9-ball was suppose to give humorous and maybe some useful advice; when in doubt, play a safety.

I made the bucket ball polisher last year. I think its practically a rite of passage here on AZ.

I haven't made a scale in Visio or OmniGraffle, but I do have a list on my phone detailing which tables at my local poolhall are tight pocketed, have nearby outlets, etc.

Legos are under-rated as IT tech tools. I built a frame out of building block and velcro to keep a couple of external HD and CD burner together.
