The electricity was just turned back on at the local pool hall. I just got my electricity turned on an hour ago and wallah, our Internet connection is still in tact, even though our neighbors large tree clipped the front edge of our house. The 2 1/2 foot diameter tree snapped in the middle (it was rotten and we have had branches dropping from that particular tree for years) so it was an accident waiting to happen. Gustav wouldn't have snapped a healthy tree in half that large. Maybe it would have been uprooted by not snapped in half unless the tree was unhealthy which was the case of course.

Anyway, we got a little water damage on the inside of the house but not too much. The adjuster is working on the estimate right now.

Our neighbors haven't returned yet and I look forward to hearing what they have to say about their diseased tree causing damage to my house.

If you saw the size of the tree that snapped in half you would expect far greater damage. Some siding, roof rafter, sheathing, trim, drip edge, gutters etc....

Anyway, Gustav didn't gather the strength that they expected and it passed in a more convenient location so we avoided the flood problems here in the city for the most part.

Pool tournament starting in 18 minutes. Got to go. :D

Glad you survived the storm with what sounds like not too bad of damage.

How about you in Alabama? Did you all suffer anything from the wind and rain?

We may be getting the remnants of something coming our way tomorrow, according to the local weatherman. Time will tell. Ike or Hannah or something like that.

I had been posting hurricane info here http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=111012 in the NPR forum, but as usual, the thread got bumped 5 pages back in one hour due to all the political whackos that own that forum.
