Building a cue for prosthetic hand

Hi Guys,

I'm planning on building or perhaps fixing up my friends cue, who happens to have a prosthetic hand like in the picture below.

The main issue he has been running into is it shreds any sort of wrap on his cue. The best solution he has found so far is wrapping it in electrical tape. It holds up pretty well and offers the grip he needs but it looks terrible.

My questions is what sort of wrap material is out there that would work for him? He's tried irish linen and leather both didn't last more than a few weeks of playing.

Why not put one of those cheap silicon sleeves over the wrap and just replace it as necessary?

Edit: Another option would be to put a fixed/adjustable clamp on the cue and hook the prosthetic hand to it. That would mitigate any wear issues.

Wrap it with inner tube, similar to an old time golf club wrap or tennis racket?

Duct tape?

Not pretty, but cheap and easily replaced as needed in minutes...

i would suggest to try a carom rubber sleeve (disposable) or the Longoni Toscana leather wrap (a bit painfull to install but it's very stong).
(IMHO he'll quickly destroy silicon wraps)

I'll suggest bedliner type tape.

Several brands and types available.

It could be installed just like a leather wrap I would guess.

Living with that prosthetic he might find a product like that useful in a number of applications in daily life.
