Bull Shooters Phoenix shoutout--Great time

So I went by Bullshooters Friday to knock a few balls around and was surprised to find a really big pool room that was nice and cool AND it had good equipment.

I asked for a table how much and the girl told me $6. I was happy with that then she said or $2. Now she had my attention (she had it already anyway)... I did a whachutalkinboutwillis look and she said its $6 to play from now til 7 or $2 per hour!

I said okay and took balls to table very happy.

After missing balls into fairly tight pockets for a frustrating hour or two a guy comes up and introduced himself as an AZer and welcomes me.

I make some plans to come back for one pocket event the next day and did.

Met some real nice guys and they rated me fairly in the tourney and I had a really good time. Some of the most enjoyable time was talking with the guys there about pool players from the past and matching up etc.. I stopped playing a little over 3 years ago and since starting back haven't been in a room with these type guys.

A couple other AZers were there and everyone in tournament was really nice. Bill Stroud was there and we talked a bit about an older player that I started playing pool with years ago. I hope my memory is as sharp as some of these old road agents.

Thanks to Bullshooters for the air in Phoenix in July and all the guys there that made my visit fun.

Now I just have to learn to shoot again

Thanks, Frank! Bull Shooters is where my pro shop is located, and I'm also the person who maintains the tables there, so it gives me great satisfaction in reading your wonderful feedback. I know I'm biased, but I think Bull Shooters is the best pool room in the southwest. So glad you enjoyed yourself.

I was excited to see the Pro Shop and was told you were the guy running it as I need a new tip installed.

Couldn't you have picked a different weekend to go out of town! :p :D

Gotta love Bullshooters ...

When I visit Phoenix, I also try to to stop into Bullshooters. A great room by any standard. Of course it's hard not to like the other local rooms - Kolby's, Main Street, Jester's and the others. Phoenix is definitely a pool players kind of town.

Also, glad to see you're back to playing again, Frank.

I also enjoyed Bullshooters when I went there a few times . The owner his wife and daughter all work there and are very nice and the tables played great and lots of top notch players to watch or play almost every day.

I too enjoy Bullshooters alot. Great room for tournaments. Roger since you maintain the tables can I ask a question? Do alot of the tables play at different speeds now a days? I remember a few years ago playing in a tournament there and every table played faster or slower than the next.

If memory recalls correctly, in the old days it was called "Six Shooter", and AZHousePro use to do a monthly big table 9 Ball tournament there. Back than Holly who now work's with Mark Griffin use to play in Mike's Event. Think that could have been 6 or 7 years ago. Man

I use to live in Phoenix several years ago, Great Food, Hot Women, Excellent Equipment,, and most of all a great owner... OK almost forgot about the pro shop.(Roger Long) Overall great place to have a night out or just hit some balls...

Yes, in the past we've had different types of cloth, installed by different installers, but I've been slowly changing out all the rental tables to Simonis 860 Tournament Blue. I only have a few more to go on that. The Valley bar boxes will remain Championship Mercury Ultra.

Sorry, Frank, you're the one person I forgot to check with before I left town! :grin-square:

Everyone should get out of town during monsoon, the weather suck big time. I would love to go to Viet Nam for a vacation, and see how the country has change in the last 40+ years.
