First of all, I wold like to introduce myself. My name is Karl and I live in Porac Pampanga, near San Fernando and Angeles City.
Back to the topic. I've thought bumper less cues have looked really sexy for a long time. I'm considering buying one. My question is-is it fragile? I know what the buttcap is made of matters. I tend to tap my cue on the floor when someone plays a nice shot. Would I have to break myself of that habit? Thank you in advance for any thoughts. Karl
 
Yes material will make a difference. But if mine didn't have a rubber end I certainly would have issues. I tend to bump mine on the floor a lot. Unless you always play on carpeted floors. :D
 
bumperless

i may be wrong but i think it is written as one word. i build a few bumperless cues, and i have seen many bumperless cues from the 1930's - 1950's that are still in very good shape. if you bang your cue on concrete floors, it will leave scratches on it and may crack it, on carpet or any vinal style floor i don't see a problem.
 
Bumperless is sexy

Leave the bumper to the cue bangers. I think a polished stainless weight bolt looks so much better. I havent had a cue made with a bumper for my last 5 cues. Never had a problem or a worry about the lack of the bumper. I never slammed a cue butt when missing a shot.

Stop tapping your cue and give a few snaps of your fingers if you want to give your opponent a nice shot gesture.

When playing on a cement floor such as the last few SUPER BILLIARDS EXPOS i set the cue butt on the top of my shoe.

Thanks for the bumperless cue advice. I already tend to rest my cue on foot. I don't bang it on the floor, I have too much respect for the tools of the trade. I've never heard of the this finger snap thing?
I'm looking at a couple old Adams cues. Thanks, Karl
 
I'm bumperless fan also. Cues are expensive...I tend to take care of them. I try to remember to rest it on my shoe while waiting for my turn.

Currently I have 3 cues at Seyberts. 2 Dufferin Hi Run's and a Predator sneaky. They are being modded to Bumperless.
 
I find a bumperless cue in general makes me be more carefull about my equipment.
