On my end i already tried changing the file extension didnt work for me. And i would figure you will have to compress the file to a smaller size which would decrease the quality cause a dual layer dvd only hold 8.5gb which is only about 7.5gb. I have managed to author the file into a AVCHD structure and burn onto a bluray dvd but had issues with the audio not in sync. So had to demux then remux the audio in. The only way i found to not decrease the quality for SD dvd is using a capture screen software. I use stream cloner which is a great program and not free. It can create MP4 files or creates a dvd structure up to you. It couldnt record the whole six hours so i split it into two then join them together using a program called imgburn. Still had great quality but takes some time.
