Joe Van took a ride up to my place the other night and we came across these Burton Spain blanks. Joe thought you AZer's would be interested in hearing the story so here it is......
Back in 1992, Burton Spain, Barry Szamboti, Joel Hercek, and myself were having conversations about hit and playability. The conversations eventually hit (ha-ha-ha) on full splice construction vs. traditional shortie
construction, so I requested Burton to build shortie and full splice blanks to start a comparison project. What you see is an over size full splice Burton Spain blank, a Spain shortie, and a second Spain shortie that Barry Szamboti attached the handle, sent back to Burton who attached the back end sleeve and butt cap. Burton's letter outlines my project. Maybe one of you guys would like to finish this project or maybe add these blanks into your collection. If anyone is interested, talk to Joe..
Hope you enjoy this story of American Cuemaking history...... Mark @ Pool Table Magic
